About the role The Senior Performance Analyst- Asset Management (AM) is responsible for the performance metrics of distributed generation solar assets. The main responsibilities include the real-time and periodic performance analysis of the operating assets, management and dispatch of third-party O&M service providers, periodic performance reporting, and ongoing optimization of assets. The Senior Performance Analyst will have a detailed understanding of electrical engineering, solar equipment, and solar monitoring platforms. Primary Responsibilities ? Monitor the day-to-day performance and analytics of multiple solar operating plants ? Find root causes of underperformance and provide options for corrective actions ? Generating, maintaining, delivering, and tracking of the operation and performance reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis ? Apply expertise about potential PV system component failure, potential modeling issues, and site design to troubleshoot current PV systems operating below expected levels of production ? Timely and efficiently complete high-quality solar performance analysis work which includes calculating plant losses and availability ? Liaison between Asset Management team, third-party O&M contractors, project managers, utilities and offtakes as needed ? Work closely with IT and O&M contractor to maximize reporting capabilities, capture appropriate KPIs, validate quality of inputs, and ensure proper alignment with data capturing software ? Assist AM team in managing O&M contractor for annual maintenance, corrective maintenance, and performance metrics ? Perform technical on-boarding of new assets into AM, including into GSPP monitoring platform, internal software tools, DAS systems, and ensuring completeness of all documentation ? Interact with cross-functional teams in the organization Perform tasks as assigned by AM department   Basic Qualifications ? Masters in engineering (or equivalent), preferably in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or Compute Science ? At least 4-5 years’ experience in performance, engineering and/or analytics in the solar energy industry ? Advanced understanding and hands on experience in all facets of solar PV energy monitoring, SCADA/DAS design, and analysis ? Able to independently complete performance and capacity tests. Experience presenting and defending performance tests and methodologies during audits ? Strong background in PVSyst ? Strong programming and software skills (preferably in Python, SQL)? Strong skills with Microsoft Office tools, particularly advanced level Excel (macros, VBA)? Ability to read and understand construction drawings, especially electrical and civil ? Experience in identifying and resolving product failures, optimizing plant performance, and directing performance projects with O&M and LTSA providers is required. ? A team player with the ability to proactively identify problems, drive projects, and identify pragmatic/creative solutions ? Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively and to juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced, challenging environment ? Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly and effectively communicate with people at all levels of the organization ? Analytical ability and strong attention to detail ? Proven ability to timely and accurately solve problems and produce value added solutions ? Baseline understanding of business, accounting, tax, and financial matters Big Plus ? Experience in solar resource assessment and modelling ?
