What You Will Do

The Senior Project Manager is a key role directly reporting to Regional Operations Manager for Middle East region. You will be based in Qatar and will be a part of a team that is responsible for the execution of Fire and Gas detection system and Protection System projects within Oil & Gas sector in the Qatar region. You will need to monitor the assigned engineering projects, review in compliance with NFPA codes & practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards, specifications and will interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field. As a member of the team, he will work within a vibrant environment that provides a platform for him to use his experience to support the team with the pre-sales/estimation.

How You Will Do It

As an experienced Senior Project Manager, he should have expertise in project executions and complex knowledge of designing of Fire and Gas systems, firefighting solutions including Fire Protection (water Based systems), Gas Suppression, Foam systems within Oil & GAS Sector in the Middle East region. You have to:
  1. Initiate and respond to contractual issues throughout contract.
  2. Monitor project progress and prepare project progress reports and represent company in client project, quality and HSE meetings.
  3. Responsible for formal (letter)/ informal (verbal) communication with client and for invoicing processing and collection of payments from clients.
  4. Prepare technical submittals and submit to clients and Responsible for production and issuance of design drawings/ calculation.
  5. Prepare and comply with project quality plan and Inspection & test plans and Ensure full compliance of project with specification and client requirement.
  6. Responsible for production of fully resourced programme in line with contract agreement.
  7. Ensure key milestone dates are met – if delays occur, then to develop plan to bring the project back on the track.
  8. Manage all allocated staff and resources to complete the project in time and responsible for requests for resources within budgeted allowance.
  9. Develop and train allocated staff.
  10. To be conversant with company and client QHSE policies/ procedures and ensure that operatives understand and implement them in their responsible areas.
  11. Liaise with QA/QC and HSE managers on all aspects of Quality and HSE.
  12. Ensure complete project data/ records are archived after completion of project and are forwarded to IS dept. for effective archiving.
  13. To ensure non-conformities in materials/ products are dealt in accordance with applicable management system procedure and appropriate corrective and preventive actions taken to prevent recurrence/ occurrence of non-conformities.
  14. To ensure needed inspections and test of products are performed, inspection & test records maintained, prior to products handover to customers.

Required

What we look for:
  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 13-18 years’ experience in Mechanical or Electrical project management in Fire Protection/Fire Detection.
  • Must have experience in GCC market with exposure to Oil and Gas sector clients such as Qatar Energy & Qatar Gas handling Fire Fighting and Fire Alarm EPC projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Fire and Gas systems, Fire Protection (water Based systems)/Gas Suppression/Foam/special hazard protection.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of project cost management, revenue generation and invoicing to customer.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
  • Fluency in the English language is essential.
  • Driving License with ability to travel.
