Position Title: Director, Construction Accounting

Location: Dublin

Your role The Director, Construction Accounting offers a motivated and energetic candidate the opportunity to leverage their skills and experience to make a significant impact on an evolving and growing organization that plays a vital role in the success of the company’s global development program. In this role, you will directly oversee the execution of project accounting operations executed by a global team and a portfolio spanning the Asia Pacific, Europe-Middle East, and Americas regions. You will partner with project and asset management leaders, financial planning & analysis, cross-regional accounting teams, and a variety of other stakeholders to align Construction Accounting in delivering towards key organizational objectives. What you’ll do The Director, Construction Accounting will report to the Sr. Director, Construction Accounting and will be responsible for the following (not all inclusive):

• End-to-end oversight of Construction Accounting operations, including collaborating with key project stakeholders to ensure resources, policies and procedures are properly aligned to achieve organizational objectives
• Mentoring and coaching direct reports to improve engagement and productivity
• Supporting teams in process improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with development project stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the Yardi Job Cost (project accounting) subledger.
• Directing monthly project reporting reviews with project stakeholders
• Providing technical accounting expertise across the defined area of responsibility
• Enhance the efficiency and accuracy of completed project transfer process and transmission of pertinent information to related stakeholders
• Execution/adherence to SOX controls/partners with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance within areas of responsibility
• Collaborating with statutory audit personnel to design and execute completion of testing related to areas of responsibility in efficient manner
• Overseeing monthly accounting close for construction in progress section of the balance sheet
• Partnering with accounting peers to stay abreast of current and potential future issues/policy changes impacting area of responsibility and ensures his/her resources are aligned to achieve organizational objectives
• Supporting ad-hoc reporting to the Senior Director of Construction Accounting, Accounting leadership, and C-Level executives.

What you’ll need To be a good fit for the Director, Construction Accounting opportunity you will have:

• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience and minimum of 4 years’ experience leading and developing teams.
• Experience working on large-scale capital projects, preferably in the real estate industry, with a keen understanding of construction project accounting principles.
• Experience working for a global corporation with complex reporting and audit requirements (statutory audits, value-added/goods-and-services taxes, levees, import duties)
• Yardi experience preferred, but not required
• Seasoned in working with variety of audit stakeholders, including internal and external audit teams
