Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer passionate about shaping the future of renewable energy? i am currently on the lookout for a dedicated Lead Offshore Substation Engineer to pioneer the development of offshore windfarm sub-station solutions for my clients esteemed projects. My Client is at the forefront of revolutionizing renewable energy and would like a talented engineer to help development of offshore wind projects along the coastlines of Ireland and the UK, influencing successful outcomes and delivering projects of significant scale and impact.As a Lead Offshore Substation Engineer, you'll take charge of leading the electrical offshore substation element on various projects. Your role involves managing tendering processes, overseeing EPC contracts, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring the seamless delivery of projects within budget and industry standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and management of electrical offshore substation elements.
- Coordinate and manage EPC-style contracts, providing technical inputs and solutions.
- Collaborate with OEMs, contractors, and partners to develop competitive cost estimates.
- Identify and manage project risks, fostering collaboration among project interfaces.
- Act as the lead electrical substation expert, coordinating with internal and external teams for successful project delivery.
- Lead consultations with key external stakeholders and statutory authorities as needed.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in HV power industry, including 2 years in offshore projects.
- Strong knowledge of tendering, scoping, planning, and commissioning of offshore substations.
- Proven ability to manage large and complex contracts for offshore substations topsides.
- Excellent stakeholder management and decision-making skills.
- Strong understanding of the electrical requirements associated with the development of offshore wind projects
- Experience in offshore wind substation development or construction.
- Substation Design Experience.
- Full driver's license and access to a car.
- Level 8 Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Level 9 Electrical Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- Chartered status in a recognized professional institution.
- Project Management qualification.
