If you are a software engineering leader ready to take the reins and drive impact, we’ve got an opportunity just for you.  As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise Technology, Finance Risk data and Controls team, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.  Job responsibilities

  • Partners with Product and Application Development teams to solidify the CI/CD capabilities & related toolchain for all Technology stacks and application patterns
  • Leading the architecture and implementation of Databricks-based ETL frameworks using Apache NiFi for large-scale enterprise systems
  • Designing and developing high-throughput data pipelines using Databricks and streaming technologies
  • Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives 
  • Is accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures 
  • Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations 
  • Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains 
  • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams 
The hiring manager for this job opening would welcome a conversation about flexible working. This could range from ad hoc flexibility in a full time position, to a more formal Flexible Work Arrangement. Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and expert applied experience. In addition, advanced experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
  • Experience in one or more modern programming languages like Python on AWS, etc.
  • Strong understanding of test driven development and engineering mindset 
  • Prior experience in roles and functions that required understanding of data (data models, governance, quality, catalog, taxonomies), and technology architecture as related to business requirements, use-cases, and functional designs
  • Strong hands-on IT experience with a strong focus on ETL and Python technologies
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing data solutions using Databricks, AWS
  • Extensive experience with Apache NiFi and streaming development
  • Experience developing or leading cross-functional teams of technologists 
  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent 
  • Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager 
  • Practical cloud native experience and proven experience using CI/CD practices
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience working at code level
  • Experience in Finance Domain (specifically in the Planning & Analytics space)
  • Strong presentation and evaluation skills
  • Expertise in business analysis, functional requirements, use case design, data analysis disciplines
