This state of the art facility will produce multiple therapies for the company’s growing biologics portfolio. Global Biologics Laboratory (GBL) responsible for the release testing of Biologics Drug product for the network, is also based on the Cruiserath Biologics Campus. For more information about Bristol Myers Squibb, visit us at BMS.com/ie The Role BMS Cruiserath Biologics is seeking to recruit on a permanent contract Senior Manager, Site Electrical SME, reporting to Associate Director, Engineering technical Services. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Point Person from the BMS Project Team as it regards to Electrical Discipline 
  • Lead Engineer/SME for Electrical / Special Systems / Life Safety & Security Systems (GMP/Non GMP buildings), responsible for review of all Design deliverables including Drawings, Datasheets, specifications and Engineering Lists. 
  • Assures all design & project work for Electrical Systems is completed in compliance with all Regulatory requirements including, Quality (cGLP/GMP’s), EHS, Global Engineering, design & construction directives, requirements & procedures, as well as all Local/Federal Regulatory requirements.
  • Represents BMS as SME / System Owner on the design of all Electrical Systems.
  • Participates in System Design Reviews, 3D Model Reviews and HAZOP’s.
  • Participate in equipment FAT’s and SAT’s.
  • Participates in construction walkdowns
  • Responsible to evaluate all the drawings and technical data regarding Electrical / Special Systems / Life Safety & Security Systems required for the implementation of the project.
  • Point person for Vendor review for all Electrical/Special systems Vendor Packages- including GMP facilities, Cold rooms and freezers, as well as those for the Office and Lab bldg.
  • Acts as a consultant to the Engineering firm to ensure design meets BMS requirements. 
  • Partners with Engineering firm counterparts to identify opportunities to reduce cost and schedule on projects. 
  • Leads data/comments gathering on behalf of BMS; expedites decision making affecting design in support to engineering deliverables in line with project schedules. 
  • Lead Electrical SWAT Team in relation to MC Walks, punch list closure, during construction and the CQV execution phase.
  • Lead review of TTOP’s & VTOP’s for technical content related to the Electrical SME discipline. Review punch list with CQV through to closure.
  • Support BMS Engineering Document Control & CQV with handover of drawings for Electrical Systems / Special Systems / Electrical Elements of Mechanical Systems / Life Safety & Security Systems.
  • Responsible for review / development of Bid-Packages for the procuring of Electrical equipment, electrical elements of equipment & systems.
  • BMS Lead on the development of Electrical and Special System Bid Packages.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Overall Responsibility for the Electrical Design of the Facility
    • Responsible for the development and implementation of the Special Systems strategy
    • Updates Project Team on Bid Package Progress
    • Assisting CM during Pre-Bid Meeting. Evaluation of Construction Bids.
    • Assuring Bid Package Quality and Timely completion.
    • Reviewing A&E deliverables,
    • Assuring that A/E deliverables truly capture existing conditions and site particularities.
    • Advising A&E and CM on BMS expectations for bid package contents,
  • Ensure compliance with all local codes and regulations, EU directives such as ATEX directive.
  • Involves BMS Site Engineering teams / SME’s as needed to assure alignment with best practices, equipment platforms, specifications and standards.
  • Involves Global engineering as required for critical design reviews and vendor technical discussions.
  • Assist the Project Manager, Engineering Manager & project SME’s in the resolution of discipline related technical questions, RFIs, Client request, Vendor Submittals, etc.
  • Accountable to maintain BOD design intent throughout project execution.
  • Accountable to budget and schedule attainment in disciplines under responsibility
  • Reviews and approves commissioning protocols associated with area of expertise.
  • Supports CM and CQV team on troubleshooting during start-up/commissioning activities
  • Partners with Reliability team to develop and procure spare parts and format parts
  • Provides Technical guidance on the development of plant maintenance programs & reliability programs and ensures compliance with codes, standards & regulations.
  • Liaise with CQV and Lead Scheduler in relation to schedule creation and management for all Electrical Systems, ensuring all correct predecessors and successors are in place.
  • Ensure Commissioning readiness of all Electrical Systems to support Start-up of systems & equipment.
  • Liaises with other disciplines to ensure alignment and coordination across disciplines
  • Liaise with all Project Groups (Design/CM/CQV/Automation/Process/SMEs/Ops/Maintenance/PMs) to ensure all ELECTRICAL Systems are managed appropriately for the entire Project Lifecycle.
  • Provides feedback on the procurement of discipline related packages, ensuring that items purchased are to the correct specification and orders are placed in line with schedule requirements
  • Works closely with the CM, project and owner teams to develop a baseline schedule which supports project completion date. 
  • The role will also focus on the elements of the schedule relating to facility readiness including procurement, commissioning, Training and Qualification along with the review/approval of documentation in support of these activities.
  • Once a base line schedule has been developed, to work with the Commissioning Manager to identify ways in which the schedule can be accelerated and to mitigate against identified areas of schedule risk
  • Ensure system is thoroughly checked on receipt at the construction site or site warehouse for damage and shipment completeness. Make sure it is stored in a way that provides for easy retrieval and protection.
  • Ensure proper installation details and studies are developed and that it is protected at the soonest opportunity following installation.
  • Partner with CM to ensure quality of installation follows BMS engineering specifications & expectations.
  • System owner for the Electrical Distribution system Protection coordination model including responsibility for overseeing the arc flash analysis.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Qualified Electrician with experience in an industrial setting such as pharmaceutical or other.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in the biopharmaceutical industry including experience with design, construction commissioning and operation for biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities
  • Extensive knowledge of MV and LV power distribution, generators, UPS systems, lighting & emergency lighting, small power, voice / data, cable containment, fire alarm, earthing & bonding, lightning protection, security, hazardous areas and fire alarm.
  • Extensive understanding of all applicable electrical engineering codes, standards and acceptable industry standards.
  • Extensive knowledge in the Operation and Maintenance of systems in the pharmaceutical industry using a CMMS.
  • Experience with complex projects and working in or around operating facilities.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and providing SME support for Electrical Systems in a GMP Environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency communicating and collaborating at a variety of levels with customers, vendors, equipment suppliers and operations staff.
  • Proven success working well in a team environment with flexibility to react to changing business needs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Problem solver with a focus on achievement of overall project goals.
  • Computer skills (Spreadsheets, Word Processing, Visio, Microsoft Project, Building Management Systems, SAP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Experience with liaising with other departments and building PMs/leads, ensuring streamlined ELECTRICAL scheduling and planning for all buildings, including LSCC, LOC & CUB/Site Infrastructure.
