This role will focus on the characterisation of extreme meteorological hazards (wind, rainfall, temperature, waves, surges, storms etc) impacts using statistical analysis.As the Natural Hazards Research Engineer, you will be responsible for producing and presenting innovative and relevant results for the R&D UK Centre, supervise research projects carried out by students and propose new research projects to ensure EDF remain at the forefront of applied scientific development.Working collaboratively, you will communicate with external academic partners, public organisations and internal stakeholders at various levels to ensure relevant information is gathered and presented accurately.Who you areYou will have a scientific background and experience in climate science (including climate models), natural hazards or related fields.We are looking for somebody with a strong track record of delivering project and research work and an extremely good understanding of programming, modelling approaches and statistical techniques for climate risk.If you have a good understanding of climate change data (UKCP18/CMIP6) and a passion for helping Britain to achieve Net Zero, then we’d love to hear from you!Closing date for applications: 18th January 2024Join us and together we can help Britain achieve Net Zero.#EDFRandDJobs
