Renwick is a small town, located in the Marlborough Wine area, one of the sunniest areas of New-Zealand. Nearby cities include Blenheim, a city with a population of 30.000 people. Blenheim is easily accessible, via a short highway. The small town is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, awarded wineries and a variety of cycling and hiking routes. Through the valley, flows the Wairau river, one of the longest rivers of the southern island. The area holds a large amount of café’s, restaurants, wineries and vineyards. The wine produced in this area is known all over the world and has put this region on the map. An hour away lies Nelson, a large Town on the Northern shore of the island. The capital Wellington is easily accessible with a ferry that departs from Picton, that lies at 30 minutes from Renwick. The clinic works with a driven team, which is looking for an extra general practitioner to join their team. It concerns a small practice, opened on weekdays and limited in weekends. The team consists of international employees, that have been working with the clinic for quite some time. They offer health care to the residents of Renwick and surrounding areas. Some patients live quite far from the clinic, which makes providing care a challenge.Job Description
On behalf of the mentioned clinic we are looking for a general practitioner with prior experience. It concerns a permanent position. The clinic is open on weekdays, during office hours. This means that there will be no evening- or nightshifts. The right candidate will join a driven team, which consists of four general practitioners and four registered nurses. Besides providing general health care during consultation hours, the clinic offers vaccinations, diabetes- and asthma management and blood work. They are included in different vaccination programs offered by the government, for example measles. To reduce the inequity in the New-Zealand health care system, the clinic is joined in on a project to make health care more accessible for the Maori’s. To react on this vacancy, a completed training for general practitioner, in combination with previous experience in a general practice is necessary. English level should be a minimum of B1 level, evidence of this is necessary. The clinic is characterized by their locating, a newly renovated villa, which provides for a welcoming atmosphere. This creates a homely environment for patients, which makes them feel more at ease. Communication skills are of importance for the integration as well as the interaction with a diverse patient population. As mentioned earlier there is a great division in the population concerning the New-Zealand health care system. Therefore every patient demands a different approach and flexibility is important. Together with colleagues the standard within the clinic is held high and improvements are continuously made. This way, health care of high standards and pleasant interactions with colleagues are guaranteed. The employer offers an appealing salary and a pleasant work environment. You will be supported wherever needed with the move and together you will look for housing.
