Our client, a leader in developing, engineering, and operating some of the world's largest industrial gas projects, is looking for a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer in their Paramount, CA location. You’ll be responsible for specifying, purchasing, and commissioning the electrical distribution equipment and large motors associated with cryogenic, hydrogen, cogeneration, process gas, and renewable energy plants. Job Title: Senior Principal Electrical Engineer Location: Paramount, CA Salary: $140-175k (based on experience) About the Role:

  • Oversee an external A&E firm responsible for design and engineering tasks for an industrial renewable energy facility.
  • Manage interfaces and provide oversight to the global design team during the detailed design phase of the industrial renewable energy facility.
  • Provide oversight for the specifications and purchasing of key electrical equipment, including medium and low voltage switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, VFD's, UPS systems, and DC systems.
  • Review and oversee specifications for large induction and synchronous motors and starting systems, which may include reduced voltage autotransformers, reactor start, and electronic soft start/VFD/LCI.
  • Oversee and review gas turbine and steam turbine generator designs for co-generation within process plants.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, accompanied by a minimum of 10 years' experience in designing industrial electrical power systems.
  • A valid Professional Engineer (PE) license for the state of California is required.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including SKM Power Tools, MS Word, and MS Excel, is essential.
  • Must be capable of thriving in a matrix engineering team environment and possess excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, project managers, and customers.
  • Thorough knowledge and application of switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, motors, and generators used in industrial power systems, including expertise in preparing and interpreting specifications related to such equipment, as well as knowledge and experience in performing detailed power system engineering studies.
