Avenue Vets in Dundalk, Co Louth is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their practice team. Avenue Vets is a modern, Small Animal Hospital located in Dundalk, Co Louth. Our hospital is purpose-built to offer high quality Veterinary Services with a fully equipped surgical suite, laboratory, x-ray room, large treatment area, separate cat and dog wards, isolation unit and 3 consultation rooms. Our practice is spacious, giving a nice environment to work effectively and comfortably as part of a large team. We are situated in the centre of a vibrant town with a great nightlife, numerous cafes and award-winning restaurants. We are close to both the mountains and sea, so if you fancy some sea swimming or hikes you are coming to the right place!  At Avenue Vets our focus (besides offering exceptional Veterinary care) is on our team. We strive to keep a positive atmosphere in the hospital each day for both our clients and employees to enjoy. We see a high volume of patients and adopt a collaborative approach to ensure the best outcome for each animal. We see all types of companion animals from dogs and cats to parrots and tortoises! We work with all the local charities and have a high volume of spays and castrates each week. We pride ourselves on having fun at work while keeping our standards high and always support one another when needed. We have a great work-life balance. Often times, our staff are out the door by 5pm during the week. We also have a shared on-call rota of 1 weekend in 8. We are proud to be the busiest and best practice in Dundalk. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wants to see a large and varied caseload while working with an experienced, well-established team. Our team consists of 3 Veterinary Surgeons, 3 Veterinary Nurses, 3 Receptionists and a Practice Manager. We also have many student vets and nurses that see practice with us throughout the year. The Role 

We are seeking an experienced, Full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join our hospital team The full-time position is for 40 hours per week over 5 days, with typical shifts between 9am-6:30pm or 8:30am-5pm evenly spread during the week. In addition, you would be expected to work 1 in 4 Saturday mornings. The On-Call rota is 1 in 8 weekends on call. Salary up to €55,000 DOE  All applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent qualification and be eligible to register with the Veterinary Council of Ireland. The successful applicant must be experienced in first opinion practice including surgery, internal medicine and emergency medicine.
