Job Description Director of Adventures (Recreation & Activities) The Director of Adventures, in charge of Recreation and Island Activities at Hawar Resort by Mantis, will curate an unforgettable experience for guests through a diverse range of activities that align with the resort's commitment to exceptional hospitality and fostering a connection with the island's unique beauty and wildlife. Will oversee the planning, implementation, and management of all activities, ensuring a sustainable and environmentally aware approach. Additionally, will develop new and innovative activities that promote sustainable tourism practices and raise awareness of the island's unique biodiversity, working closely with local conservation organizations to ensure alignment with their conservation goals. Key Responsibilities: • Overall Responsibility: Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Recreation & Activities department in the pre-opening phase, ensuring its seamless integration into the resort's overall operations and the delivery of exceptional guest experiences. • Pre-Opening Preparations: Develop and implement comprehensive plans for the establishment and operation of Recreation & Activities facilities and establish and maintain safety protocols and risk management procedures. • Recreation Management: Design and implement a diverse range of recreation programs catering to the interests and preferences of guests, encompassing both structured and unstructured activities. • Activities Management: Develop and implement an innovative and engaging adventure programme that aligns with the resort's brand and the island's unique natural attractions. • Sustainability and Environmental Awareness: Implement and promote sustainable practices throughout all Recreation & Activities operations, minimising environmental impact and promoting responsible tourism. • Professional Development and Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in recreation and adventure tourism, incorporating innovative ideas into the department's offerings.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications • Education: Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Sports, Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field. FGASA accreditation is required. • Professional Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role overseeing adventure and recreational activities within the hospitality sector is required. Previous resort pre-opening experience is essential, and exposure to Island Adventure Tour activities is highly desirable. Hands-on expertise in game lodges, drives, and safari camps is a must. • Leadership and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with guests from diverse backgrounds. Exceptional email etiquette is expected. • Organizational and Time Management Proficiency: Demonstrated strength in organizational and time management skills is essential, coupled with the ability to effectively oversee extensive territories. • Passion for Adventure: A fervent passion for adventure and a genuine love for the outdoors are key. • Local Environmental Awareness: A proficient understanding of local environmental dynamics and conservation concerns is necessary.
