Who are we looking for? The Business Improvement Director works collaboratively with the GHD Digital leadership team and senior leaders of the Digital and the broader GHD business to optimise business performance and drive the growth of the business in accordance with GHD Digital’s strategy. This position is an important enabler of key leaders within GHD Digital, notably towards the achievement of business plan objectives and leadership to promote focus on outcomes for strategic initiatives. Acts as an extension of the Operations team focused on operational excellence for key internal and client-facing initiatives; a trusted advisor to enable effective management of GHD Digital to achieve required KPIs that collectively deliver GHD Digital performance that meets GHD’s financial expectations and complies with GHD’s operating procedures. Role is also focused on general business management as directed by the Operations Director. In the problem solving business, it helps to be restlessly curious to deliver community change. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: The Business Improvement Director has an operational excellence focus with focused delivery and performance management responsibilities. The person has subject matter expertise that overlaps the GHD Digital four practices such that they understand the operating and business models for those businesses. As directed by the Operations Director, this includes: Business Management
- Build relationships with Practice Directors and other key Practice and Business Leadership staff to identify ongoing improvement opportunities for the Practices.
- Bring in learning from outside GHD to drive achievement of business plan objectives and KPIs.
- Implement performance and operational initiatives to achieve “best practice” as identified by the Global Digital Leadership Team
- Based on GHD Digital strategy and business plans, determine and prioritize business strategies; advise Digital leadership of recommendations
- Ensure timely completion of monthly reporting for Digital Leaders using a Balanced Score Card approach, aggregating monthly reporting to a single, global dashboard report
- Provide input, approval, and performance management for business plans for practices and initiatives, including regional and other business step ups and investments
- Refine standard processes for improvement as they influence the global Digital business
- Implement quality, compliance, and Health / Safety / Environment (HSE) routine tasks and initiatives, working closely with GHD leaders in each respective business support function
- Provide support and advice for any investment or business, prepare business cases; support M&A activities as required
