Business Function Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions - whether in the areas of product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services. The bank is also a certified Accredited Training Organisation (ATO) for the Singapore Qualification Programme by the Singapore Accountancy Commission and an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Approved Employer. Over the last few years, the expense base of the group has also grown commensurately. We have decided at this point to make a strategic investment in capability for Support Units drive a transformation of how we look at, manage, and consider costs using a transparent, data driven framework. It is also necessary at this point to review our processes and improve them to design a robust, granular and data based framework for the transparent management of costs across support units for the bank. The focus of the role is to uplift our capability in the budgeting, MIS, allocations and cross border charging processes working with both country and group functions to drive large scale process transformation, create radical transparency and significantly uplift our cost capabilities to help the Support Units make better business decisions. The successful candidate will report into Group Support Unit Finance function and work with the relevant leadership teams to manage an annual expense base across Support Units (Risk, Legal / Compliance, Marketing etc) to manage all related costs. You will be able to lead all aspects of financial management for the functions that you are responsible for including, but not limited to Budgeting, MIS, Allocations, Cross Border Charges and Productivity. You will have a deep understanding of costs and controllership with a demonstrated track record of running these functions. Responsibilities Partnering closely with specific Support Units, you will drive day to day operational and financial responsibilities for the portfolio, which involves leading a Finance team, in ensuring the fundamentals are in order, including but not limited to financial processes, governance, risks and controls. You will also be heavily involved in business partnering with the respective heads, leads and business partners, to drive the productivity & optimization agenda. Main functional responsibilities and deliverables: Support Units
- You will be heavily involved in partnering with Regional T&O and Support Unit Finance especially in areas of performance management and driving deeper insights through data and well thought out analysis
- This includes driving the implementation Regional Platform operating model and support regional strategies with a financial lens
- Drive transparency and support MIS and financial reporting including resources to ensure consistency across locations and with Group, while ensuring timely closure of all queries. This includes deepening of strategic insights
- Working with the Group's cost allocation framework, you will partner with local and group teams to ensure that the allocations and associated data provide a fair representation of allocations to Business Units, Segments and Products
- Where necessary, you will work in cross functional teams to help refine methodology and data while ensuring consistency with Group standards.
- Ensure appropriate governance & understanding of cross border charges for services provided by regional teams and work done for the country overseas including billing for operational activities, with the country SU teams
- Support Tax for Audit/Assessment queries regarding Inter-Co charges, ensuring completeness of documentation & understanding of the charges
- Possess at least 10 years of experience in banking and operations finance including proven track record in leadership and senior management roles
- Relevant industry exposure gained in project investment, agile, design thinking
- The ideal candidate should be CA/CPA/ACCA qualified and holding an MBA is advantageous.
- Solid business acumen and experienced with business and financial planning, forecasting and budgeting
- Deeply data driven with the ability to work with large data sets and the ability to connect the dots across a number of areas
- Ability to balance the local versus regional requirements and a proven track record of being able to work effectively in a matrix organisation.
- Able to thrive in a matrix reporting organization
- Deep experience in cross border billing / recharges / processes/ technology systems and finance databases
- Competency / experience in working with large datasets
- Proficiency in complex stakeholder management and the ability to make thoughtful trade-offs
- Keen eye for detail
