About the role
After becoming one of the fastest growing startups in the United States, Rippling is ready to up level our growth engine to scale to $1B in ARR over the next couple years, including through international expansion and the addition of new products like Global Payroll, Employer of Record, and Spend Management. The EMEA region will be central to our efforts and we are looking for leaders to take our business to the next level. Rippling has established Rippling Payments Ireland Limited (“Rippling Ireland”) for which it is seeking authorisation as an electronic money institution from the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI). Rippling Ireland will be central in providing Payroll, Bill Pay, and related e-money products and services to customers in Ireland and abroad. That’s where you come in. Rippling Ireland is seeking an experienced Controller. You will be responsible for the financial management, providing oversight and guidance to leadership, and the submission of relevant regulatory reporting to the regulators. You must possess a wide range of accounting skills, be hands on, and possess demonstrable experience working in financial services firms, preferably in a CBI-approved role focused on payment services. You will work closely with senior management and will need to be comfortable carrying out a wide range of accounting and finance tasks. You will also be responsible for adhering to all financial accounting standards and regulatory obligations for a newly CBI authorized company that is committed to establishing itself as a key provider to the Ireland market. What you will do Lead the Ireland-based Accounting functions with the ability to define and implement an effective controllership framework for Rippling Ireland, consistent with Rippling Group standards, where appropriate; Manage all money flows that are under the supervision of Rippling Ireland, including any users’ funds that are required to be safeguarded in accordance with Rippling Ireland’s regulatory authorisation(s) Ensure the firm is adequately capitalized at all times and that the firm’s business model is capital accretive, aligned to the business strategy set by the executive management team and the board, and that the firm remains compliant with its regulatory capital requirements at all times Maximize the efficient use of resources to ensure ongoing business model viability; Contribute towards the financial strategy, opportunities and growth of Rippling Ireland; Own and manage Rippling Ireland financial processes and ensure all systems and controls are fit for purpose as the company evolves and grows in line with Rippling Ireland strategic objectives; Have overall responsibility for the management accounts for Rippling Ireland including profit & loss, cashflow and balance sheets; Have responsibility for the preparation of all appropriate company financial statements; Oversight of all mandatory Office of the Revenue Commissioners and regulatory returns; Develop and implement appropriate policies and procedures for the function; Identify and oversee financial controls and adherence to financial procedures, carrying out regular reviews to ensure they remain effective; Work closely and provide support to Rippling Ireland CEO and CFO, together will other senior stakeholders; Keep Rippling Ireland CEO and CFO informed of all key finance reporting, activities and financial risks to the business.What you will need
5+ years experience in a similar role and ideally 3+ years of experience in a CFO role in a regulated financial services provider; Experience delivering reports to senior stakeholders is essential; Engages and communicates effectively with colleagues, investors, customers, suppliers, regulators, and other internal and external stakeholders Track-record of ensuring effective compliance and control and responding to regulatory developments, including financial reporting, capital requirements and corporate responsibility In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices; Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods; Strong attention to detail, ability to work in a complex global organisational environment; Ability to work with multiple deadlines under pressure; and Startup mindset- comfortable working in a highly dynamic environment Even if you don’t meet all of the requirements listed here, we still encourage you to apply.
