We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Director to lead our New Zealand operations on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic leader to collaborate with the APAC Executive team to support and influence the NZ commercial, supply, logistics and marketing divisions. The Commercial Director, NZ is the primary contact and influence point for our sales, customer service teams and our customers in New Zealand and represents the customer offer for our total business. A key focus is ensuring the offer of Provet and Covetrus is presented in an effective and successful way to ensure customer retention, but to also target new business opportunities with individual vet clinics and significant key accounts. As a member of the Executive Leadership team, your responsibilities will include –
  • Leading the local New Zealand Leadership Team.
  • Develop, execute and regularly review business unit plans that are aligned with national and global strategic plans with overall P&L responsibility for Provet NZ.
  • Identifying sales opportunities through market research, competitor and customer analysis and monitoring data against sales targets.
  • Identifying skillsets within the NZ team, to ensure succession planning is in place and implement and support ongoing professional development.
  • Working in a rapidly changing environment with the ability to effectively communicate, motivate, influence, and inspire cross-functional teams and stakeholders with professionalism.
  • Driving sales growth of Provet high margin exclusives and corporate brand with current and prospective customers, assisting with the development of sales presentations and proposals.
  • Increasing market share of core wholesale business by winning customer preference with Provet value adds.
About You Ideally you will display -
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business or Commerce.
  • Proven track record of demonstrating sales growth through the implementation of successful sales and marketing plans and customer capture.
  • Strong understanding of the animal health industry; including trends, customer trends, products and services.
  • Demonstrated ability to build lasting, value-add relationships within the animal health and/or agriculture industry.
  • Capacity and previous experience working within a Matrix environment
  • Change management and transformation experience.
  • A hands-on, participative, leadership style that encourages creative problem solving.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous experience within a national leadership position with strong commercial acumen.
  • A current drivers license and the ability to travel as required.
  • Previous sales experience in the veterinarian or agriculture industry (preferred).
