Music Director

Job title: Music Director Location:   Camp Courtney , Okinawa, Japan. Travel: N/A Duties:

• The applicant shall direct, plan, and lead a choir to deliver songs, as well as choir rehearsals.
• The applicant shall recruit and train a Praise Team (also called a “Worship Team” or “Choir”) consisting of a minimum of four volunteers. Prepare the choir to provide a weekly Choir Special as part of the weekly regular worship service and additional selections for special services as scheduled.
• The applicant shall assist the substitute service Chaplain in the selection of music for all services when the chaplain is absent.

• Knowledge and ability to lead a choir in singing a variety of worship music styles including traditional and contemporary songs.
• Experience leading worship in a church or chapel setting.
• Sing with proficiency or alternatively plays piano, Organ, or comparable instrument used in the leading of Contemporary worship services, and ability to read music and play by ear.
• A pastoral letter of reference or equivalent.
