The iTS family includes four product brands: Temptronic, Sigma Systems, Thermonics, and North Sciences. inTEST Thermal Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of inTEST Corp, Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA. inTEST Thermal Solutions is now seeking to recruit a full time Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Malaysia.  Responsible for a wide variety of product development and sustaining engineering work, including solution of problems and design of new models and mechanisms where assignments involve the application of pneumatic, electric, mechanical, electronic and refrigeration factors prepare or instruct in the preparation of design drawings and follow up or assist in determining specifications and standards, under direction of the Engineering Director. Troubleshoot and provide manufacturing and customer support as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for attaining knowledge and experience in the application principles and practices of mechanical engineering awareness of pertinent elements of such related fields as thermal hydraulic and electronic engineering and knowledge of product engineering, design, construction and documentation. 
  • Analyze new product and product modification specifications and requirements, product proposals, and determine development feasibility. Estimate time and cost requirements.
  • Develop products and apply engineering principles to meet product requirements. Develop products and apply engineering principles to meet product development and design requirements. Assure the mechanical integrity of new and modified products.
  • Design or supervise the design and direct assembly of prototypes. Provide necessary engineering support and guidance.
  • Develop, perform or control the performance of tests necessary to measure performance, reliability, life and conformance to specifications of new or modified products or components. Provide the engineering package including full documentation on prototypes submitted for acceptance.
  • Review designs and design requirements for suitability, select new product parts, review vendor qualifications, and establish process specifications and tooling requirements for new or modified products. Schedule and control technical projects assigned to the mechanical laboratory.
  • Use Solid Works to model and design thermal testing systems for ease of manufacturing based on system performance requirements and customer’s specifications.
  • Detail mechanical parts for fabrication including tubes, sheet metals and frame structures.
  • Estimate design costs and Interface with system engineering, application engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to make sure the design fulfills the design intent Support the implementation process of a new design or related manufacturing processes, If necessary, update ISO related documents and processes
  • Assist in testing electromechanical systems when necessary.
  • Perform other engineering duties as assigned.
  • Will observe and adhere to all safety rules and practices. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, hazard-free condition, reporting all defective equipment or hazardous conditions. Perform other related duties as required by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BSME / MSME
  • Solid theoretical background as well as demonstrated experience.
  • Familiar with Modeling Packages (SDRC Modeling (FEA/FEM), AudoDesk, Ansys Solidworks, Cosmos and Flo Works highly desired
  • Semiconductor/Capital equipment industry experience highly desired
  • Formal Training in SolidWorks, Cosmos and Flo Works highly desired
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use excel, word and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and sound mathematical skills and experience using Microsoft Office and Windows
