The Role: Financial Accountant - International Are you a qualified ACA or ACCA with experience in auditing and accounts preparation? Do you have a strong grasp of FRS102 and IFRS, along with the ability to work in a central finance function with international elements? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as a Financial Accountant - International within our fast-growing international department here in PIB Group. In this role, you will primarily focus on the financial accounting aspects of new and existing acquisitions. You'll work closely with our financial reporting and M&A teams, playing a critical role in accounting for acquisitions under FRS102 & IFRS. Additionally, you will prepare and maintain adjustments from local GAAP (such as Polish, German, or Spanish GAAP) to FRS102 & IFRS. Collaboration is key, as you'll work closely with our management accounting team in Retford and international colleagues in over 8 countries to ensure accurate monthly P&L & BS reporting, facilitating an efficient year-end close and subsequent audit. Responsibilities As a Financial Accountant - International, your responsibilities will include:

  • Accounting for international acquisitions, including reviewing opening balance sheet positions and supporting documentation.
  • Identifying and preparing adjustments between local GAAP and FRS102 / IFRS.
  • Liaising with International Hub Leaders to finalize year-end processes and reconciliations.
  • Onboarding and integrating new acquisitions into the group.
  • Assisting in the development of International Hub capabilities.
  • Maintaining a high-quality audit trail and records to support international subsidiaries within consolidated group accounts.
  • Collaborating with external and internal audit teams as needed for accounts production and maintaining a robust control environment.
  • Serving as an international point of contact within the Group Financial Control function.
  • Supporting International Hub Managers and UK-based management accountants with financial data queries.
  • Innovating and improving internal processes that support financial reporting across European acquisitions in the Group.
Experience
  • We are looking for a qualified ACA or ACCA with a background in audit and accounts preparation, preferably in a practice setting.
  • Proven experience working in a central finance function with international exposure and a successful track record in accounting for acquisitions would be highly regarded but not essential.
  • Prior experience in auditing international entities during your practice tenure would be advantageous.
  • A foundational understanding of international GAAP reporting is preferred
  • Proficiency in FRS102 / IFRS is essential for this role.
  • Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite is considered desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in navigating various financial service and group requirements is also desirable.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficient in data manipulation, including handling multiple data sources.
  • Advanced expertise in Excel usage.
  • Proficiency in process engineering and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Demonstrates a positive, collaborative, and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities at the core of your mindset.
  • Committed to driving continuous improvement in processes and performance.
  • Maintains a high level of attention to detail.
