Software Engineering Lead

About the Role As a Software Engineering Lead, you will be serving as a Subject Matter Expert for your team. Alongside writing code for complex systems and applications, you'll have input into projects, schedules, and methodologies. Responsibilities · Serving as the initial point of escalation for software development issues within specific area of responsibility · Working closely with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs · Implementing development processes, coding best practices and code reviews · Operating in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders · Completing complex bug fixes, and resolving technical issues · Mentoring your team, ensuring that they are knowledgeable in critical aspects of their roles, providing clear feedback · Designing and working with complex data models · Managing your team, including interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; and giving appropriate feedback · Encouraging new ideas from staff to foster improvements through innovations, and empowering them to be accountable Requirements · Have substantial Software Engineering experience · Have a BS degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience · Have an advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) · Have the ability to partner with and lead internal and external technology resources to solve business needs · Have good knowledge of test-driven development · Have an excellent understanding of data modelling principles, data manipulation languages and storage systems · Be expert in development languages, including C#, .NET, .NET Core, Angular, ASP.NET MVC, SQL · Show an aptitude for achieving business objectives through managing others · Be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills when dealing with multiple priorities, able to think analytically · Be a natural problem solver, able to take a lead in collaborating to resolve issues · Have excellent communication skills and the ability to convey information clearly to a wide audience Work in a way that works for you We promote a healthy work/life balance across the organization, with various flexible and remote working options available to employees Working with Us LexisNexis Legal & Professional is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
