We welcome people who bring a range of perspectives, skills and experience including those who may bring a Māori and Pacific Peoples perspective.  About the role In this role you will be given the opportunity to expand your litigation experience and independently manage a caseload of tribunal cases with the support of very experienced in-house senior colleagues. You will also:

  • be responsible for providing legal advice and opinions in relation to licensing and disciplinary processes
  • due to the nature and size of REA, interact with colleagues across the organisation including the Chief Executive and Complaints Assessment Committees
  • work on a range of interesting and unique work pertaining to relevant legislation, regulations and codes
  • have plenty of opportunity to engage with external legal providers
  • contribute to policy and practice development to ensure REAs activities meet the highest possible standards
About you You will have 3 years’ PQE, with experience manging litigation and/or appearing before Tribunals or Court either within private practice or an in-house environment. As well as being able to hold a NZ practising certificate, you will also have some or all of the following:
  • a strong understanding of regulatory regimes and the machinery of government
  • experience working with legislative change and legal policy development
  • knowledge of the principles of property and public law
  • excellent communication and a collaborative working style
  • evidence a regard for diverse perspectives, ensuring the fair treatment of all people
