Learn more at About role: The  General Manager Operations  will lead Warehouse operations, which is inclusive of the distribution center. This role will be at the helm of optimizing our Operations Management, guaranteeing business profitability, and championing operational excellence. It involves strategic planning, resource utilization, and continuous improvement efforts to maintain high-quality standards and exceptional customer service. And will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, leading a culture of continuous improvement, and implementing long-term growth strategies aligned with our organizational objectives. Responsibilities, Supporting Actions: Operational Excellence and Service Quality : Ensure cost-effective, on-time delivery meeting SLAs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and developing streamlined processes for engaged and empowered teams. Budget : Demonstrate strong financial acumen, prepare comprehensive budgets, reports, and forecasts, and monitor functional expenditure to optimize financial performance. Leading People : Focus on developing the next generation of operations leaders, handle administration, implement training, and drive engagement for effective succession planning. Process Improvement : Identify and implement process improvements, analyze daily KPI reporting for quantifiable efficiency gains, and lead change initiatives across all business streams. Health, Safety, Security, and Environment : Plan, examine, and evaluate operations in respect to safety standards, implement safe work practices, and ensure compliance with TAPA certifications for a safe working environment. Project Management : Work closely with various business units for planning and implementing key supplier projects, proactively planning for events such as product launches and new customer/vendor onboarding. Essential Skills, Experience & Requirements:
  • Minimum 7-9 years’ of relevant experience in leading a captive operations/warehousing environment.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain/Logistics/Management at a minimum of Certification 4 although ideally at Bachelors Level.
  • Significant experience in warehousing operations; budgeting; personnel management; and administrative techniques. Experience in launching new operations is a plus.
  • Prior experience working within a 5S or Lean environment.
  • Expected to be a subject matter expert with high credibility and creative mental agility to solve problems and implement cost effective solutions.
  • Keen sense of customer needs and can anticipate requirements. Ability to work effectively with a complex business and organizational environment.
  • Demonstrated by ability to act as a catalyst for positive change, teamwork and client/customer service with superior interpersonal skills, creativity and vision.
  • Strong financial acumen, inclusive of reporting and productivity /KPI measures. Experience in preparing comprehensive budgets, reports, and forecasts, and monitoring functional expenditure to optimize financial performance.
  • Ideally should have a process oriented/management mindset with a clear understanding for the use of metrics and measurements.
  • Understanding of warehouse management systems is key. Experience with implementing new WMS is a plus.
