Discovery ANZ business to drive the people & culture strategy to meet the short and long term needs of the business. Accountabilities The ideal candidate will be flexible, focused, with a ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-growing and fast-paced challenging environment. They will have a collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence others into action and to think creatively about solutions. They will be confident in communicating with all levels of stakeholders and be able to build strong relationships with all production and news personnel, including, at times, high profile cast. They need to be agile and adaptable, with the ability to think on their feet, sometimes in high pressurized situations. If you are a people & culture professional who likes to work methodically through processes this role is probably not for you. This role is often required to work on unique issues which means that there are not always clearly defined policies and processes to follow in these situations. So, if you are comfortable working with ambiguity and want to be able to use your knowledge and expertise to define the best solutions then this role provides that opportunity. You will need to have good judgement with the ability to balance the needs of the company and personnel. You will have high ethical standards with demonstrated experience handling highly sensitive information. The majority of your work will be split between working with leadership in Productions and Newshub (based in NZ) but you will also cover projects and other client groups across Warner Bros. Discovery ANZ.
- Knowledge of production, news or media is desirable.
- Drive the People & Culture strategy to meet the short-term and long-term needs to the business.
- Be adept at organisational design and implementation of change – particularly large scale projects
- Be operationally strong as well as hands on. Own & manage the employee lifecycle from Onboarding to Exit.
- Diagnose people trends at large and within the organization, measure organization effectiveness and adjust strategy as needed.
- Connect people, teams and organization to execute the strategy. Find ways for Managers/ Senior leaders to create meaningful connections with each other and their teams.
- Create exceptional employee experiences through the employee lifecycle.
- Partner with the relevant leadership teams and work closely with other leaders; be an escalation point for challenging production and news issues
- Build collaborative relationships within People & Culture team internationally as well as business teams & individual employees in business.
- Drive talent programmes in partnership with the leaders to identify, develop and retain a diverse and inclusive pool of talent and succession plans for Critical Roles
- Lead or partner (as applicable) on P&C related projects and support the roll out of annual global HR initiatives.
- Support a culture of ongoing honest and open feedback.
- Be the P&C Partner on new and innovative business projects and lead on organisation and people focused priorities. Liaising with specialist functions (Reward, Legal etc) as needed
