Overview

Strategy and Market Analysis is seeking a New Energies Strategist - Investment Plan Analyst to support the development of the Company's new energies strategy and business. The candidate will work with the lead Corporate Strategists in each sector of New Energies including renewable energies, low carbon hydrogen, and carbon capture and storage (CCS), develop the relevant strategies and assess potential investments in these sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Assists in the development of the Company's strategic goals and plans for its and new energies business in collaboration with corporate strategists, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the organization.

Reviews the Company's business and investment plans in the new energies, and conduct strategic fit assessment of key investments to ensure alignment with the Company's strategic plan.

Carries out periodic corporate-wide strategy execution reviews to measure execution progress on the new energies' strategy, identify early warning signs and recommend potential areas for improvement.

Researches and analyses market trends in the area of new energies to identify new investment opportunities and conduct feasibility studies to evaluate the viability of new energy projects.

Develops and maintains financial models to forecast the revenues, EBITDA, NPV and other key financial metrics of potential investments in new energies projects.

Conduct research, special studies and white papers as required for the Strategy & Market Analysis organization and various Corporate Committees.

Builds and maintains strong relationships with industry experts, consultancies, and best-in-class companies, keeping abreast of key developments in the new energies space and other arenas that could impact the company's strategy.

Cultivates key matrix relationships across the organization, and be able to persuade counterparts at different levels and advance corporate strategic thinking to ensure the organization is proactive in developing or adjusting its strategy.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Financial Management or closely related discipline; advanced degree is preferable.

10+ years of experience in developing and advising on new energies projects with a major integrated energy company, industrial gases company, chemicals company, consulting firm or financial institution.

Must have a good understanding of market and industrial trends within new energies sectors. Specifically, the candidate must be well-versed in the investment trends, policy and regulatory environment, commercialization, technologies and market entry strategies.

Must have strong analytical skills to assess market trends and investment opportunities and provide timely input into the strategic thinking for long-term planning

Must have expertise in investment analysis and modelling tools, and be familiar with energy modelling and general project management software.

Must have a proven ability to effectively challenge conventional thinking, and influence others to do the same.

Must have a proven ability to quickly build and maintain positive and effective networks with internal and external stakeholders of all organizational levels.

Must have a proven ability to develop a positive, effective and collaborative rapport with senior management, co-workers, and stakeholders using tact and diplomacy.

Candidate must have excellent English written and oral communication skills.

Fully proficient with Microsoft Office tools or equivalent, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
