Overview

We are seeking an Instrument Engineer to join the South Ghawar Gas Producing Engineering Division of South Ghawar Gas Producing Department

The South Ghawar Gas Producing Department main function is to produce gas in a safe and reliable manner, utilizing the latest technologies and motivated workforce. Control systems and instrumentation plays a major role for SGGPD to safely run its facilities and meet the Department's oil and gas production targets.

The Instrument Engineer primary role will be responsible to monitor and troubleshoot the Gas Operation Process Control Systems and field instrumentation of South Ghawar Gas Producing Department. The candidate shall have a thoroughly understanding of Gas Compression plant operations, process and control system technologies and field instrumentation. The candidate shall also demonstrate the ability to work and lead multidisciplinary teams for troubleshooting, investigate and root cause analysis, develop design packages, operation support that provides basis for management's decision.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

  • Conduct performance and compliance assessments for the facilities control systems and instrumentation and generate the related reports.
  • Develop engineering design scopes and packages.
  • Perform logic changes on Honeywell DCS Experion PKS and Honeywell ESD Safety Manager.
  • Troubleshoot and investigate system upsets and/or malfunctions and provide recommendations.
  • Conduct engineering job evaluation for plant modifications proposals.
  • Assist and provide technical consultation to Maintenance and Operation teams.
  • Provide support to Plant Operations Engineers.
  • Conduct and Review major studies and incidents investigations.
  • Maintain engineering drawings and Mark-ups as P&ID's, ILD's and ISS's.
  • Participate on studies and company studies including HAZOP and SIL studies, innovation programs, operational excellence, knowledge sharing, among others.
  • Participate on control systems (DCS, ESD, CCS, VMS, etc) FAT and SAT tests, commissioning and PAT as required.
  • Develop and mentor young engineers.

Minimum Requirements

As the successful candidate you should hold a Bachelor degree or preferably master's degree in related engineering discipline to control system (i.e Electrical Engineer, Electronic Engineering, System Engineer or equivalent) from a recognized and approved program.

NCEES PE (Practice Engineer), ISA CAP (Certified Automation Professional), TUV/EXIDA FSE (Functional Safety Engineer) are preferred and will be a priority in selection criteria.

Minimum 10 (ten) years of experience in Instrumentation and Control systems, including at least 7 years in Gas Oil operation facilities. At least 5 years with experience in Honeywell Experion PKS system. You must have hands-on experience on Honeywell Experion DCS, Honeywell ESD Safety Manager, as well as in depth knowledge of international standards and codes for instrumentation as: NEMA, API, ASME, ISO, NEC. Furthermore, you should demonstrate technical skills on dimensioning, specifying and troubleshooting field instrumentation such as control valves, flow instruments, analyzers, machinery protection system (vibration and temperature), PLCs and fire systems.
