Overview
We are seeking a Drilling Engineer System Specialist to join the Data Management & Digital Solution Division of Unconventional Resources. The Drilling Engineer Data Manager primary role is to proactively manage and protect UR Drilling Engineering data in official repositories by following the corporate guidelines and industry best practices to positively impact Drilling Engineering business performance and mitigates risk(s).
The Data Management & Digital Solution Division is responsible for providing daily data support to all UR business departments and entities underpinning business continuity and operational activities crucial to the UR organization. Services provided include, but are not limited to:
- Data Governance & Compliance
- Data discovery, preparation, validation & packaging
- Application data loading and validation
- Application data support
- Data Quality Management
- Data Synchronization from Corporate repository to Application databases
- User Access management in 3rd party applications
- Legacy data cleanup, loading & archiving
- External data delivery and packing
Duties & Responsibilities
- Set a clear leadership role model in promoting health, safety and environmental awareness.
- Set clear organization technical data strategies and guidelines to include raw, processed and interpreted technical data to better address the security, quality and availability of the Drilling Engineering technical data through its entire data life cycle such as pre-spud wellsite preparations and well completion.
- Collect user requirements and recommend data management solutions. This includes data modelling design, project scoping and specification, testing/acceptance for any data management applications.
- Ensure sufficient metadata, standards, data business rules and clear roles & responsibilities are available and properly maintained to the diverse spectrum of Drilling Engineering data types.
- Recommend data policies to his superiors' endorsements and ensure they are implemented right after endorsement.
- Oversee potential risks on sensitive information and ensure appropriate measures are applied to safeguard it while enabling Drilling Engineering, Production Engineering, Drilling & workover operations.
- Provide central direction and control over complex theoretical and practical Drilling data management projects and work with cross-functional teams for implementations, review/monitor project progress and generate needed reports.
- Establish clear divisional key performance indicators and monitor division performance towards achieving them.
- Maintain and implement the organizational technical data retention schedule.
- Provide technical expertise on Drilling Engineering data quality assurance and quality control measurements.
- Direct/Coach subordinates to generate meaningful reports from well database with analysis and charts to measure key performance indicators, statistical data and trends which can assist in improving oil/gas operations and safety.
- Mentor his technical staff in identifying problems with existing Drilling data management environment and formulates solutions, alternatives and recommendations to resolve them.
Minimum Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Drilling engineering, Petroleum engineering or any close related major. An advanced degree is preferred.
- You are expected to have a minimum of 15 years of experience in oil and gas business including working experience with Drilling Engineering data management and working experience in IT project management.
- A full understanding of upstream data types, with good understanding of the data management functions concept is required.
- Demonstrates high level of knowledge in upstream domains data, creates and uses cross-discipline processes to implement best-practice approaches.
