Job requires that incumbents havetraining, knowledge and ability in his engineering specialty, a working knowledge of related engineeringfields, applicable codes and standards.ResponsibilitiesDUTY1 / effort % (020)Leads and recommends new continuous improvement solutions forinstallations ormodifications to improve existing facilities and standardization withinspecific fields ofendeavor. Estimates costs, prepares justifications and completesexpenditure requests asrequired.DUTY2 / effort % (020)Leads the activities of project proposal that include development ofscope, functions,interrelationship, integration, physical solution definition, costestimate, etc. Leadsproject execution for project proposal, initiatives, studies andcontinuous improvement ofsolutions and problem solvers.DUTY3 / effort % (010)Plans, schedules and provides work direction for preparation of designs,processes,reports, correspondence and related data and assures the efficiency,adequacy andconformance to overall objectives of challenging engineering problems.DUTY4 / effort % (010)Formulates the basis for engineering studies in any of several basic orspecialengineering fields by analyzing and evaluating all relevant data.Evaluates data as toscope, effect on existing installations, economic value, and long rangeplanning andbudgetary considerations.DUTY5 / effort % (010)Initiates detailed work outline and makes decision as to basicapproaches, processesand/or equipment. Performs work and/or delegates work to other engineersfor finaldevelopment of specialized or technical proposals and proposed projects.DUTY6 / effort % (010)Brings all elements of a project together, makes certain that allelements proceedsatisfactorily on schedule and within the allocated budget; andinitiates correctiveaction as required. Reviews cost estimates, recommendation from vendors,engineeringfirms, and licensors.DUTY7 / effort % (010)Develops scope and description of technology items, and leads theimplementation andoperation of developed solutions in the field.DUTY8 / effort % (010)Reviews work of engineers directed. Checks that reports are writtenaccording toestablished methods of good report presentation. Makes recommendationsfor future study orreport changes.
