Business Studies and Economics are amongst our most popular option subjects at both GCSE and A Level; with 16 groups across the entire A Level cohort and 18 groups across GCSE, this is a fantastic opportunity to teach Business Studies and/or Economics to an advanced level. Behaviour in the College is 'outstanding' and the positive relationships between students and teachers, alongside the highly motivated students, means that teachers can focus on teaching their subject.The successful candidate will be a leader within an exceptional department. In 2022 the results were outstanding. In GCSE Business Studies 79% of students received grades 9-7, out of which over 52% achieved grade 9-8. At A Level Business Studies - 82% achieved A* - B out of which 54% were A*/A.In GCSE Economics 61% of students received grades 9-7, out of which over 40% achieved grade 9-8. At A Level Economics - 91% achieved A* - B out of which 51% were A*/A.The opportunities which Business Studies and Economics present for students is central to the philosophy of the school. As a result, this appointment is crucial to the continued development of Jumeirah College.As a lead practitioner, the successful applicant will be line managed by the Head of Department for Business and Economics. The position comes with a reduced teaching allocation, with the expectation that the successful candidate will support professional development and school improvement primarily across the department, as well as having a whole school role and impact.The successful applicant will be required to have the following:A B.Ed. or degree and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with exceptional subject knowledge.At least 3 years' experience of the National Curriculum for England. Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level.
