Purchasing Manager

We are seeking a full-time, bilingual Purchasing Manager to join our manufacturing operation. Responsibilities include the development of purchasing strategies, maintaining relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal stakeholders, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIESDeveloping and implementing purchasing strategies;Managing daily purchasing activities and staff;Managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts, rebates, pricing, and schedules;Maintaining records and accuracy for goods ordered and received;Coordinating with production and inventory control for all needs;Training new purchasing employees;Lead the development of the organization's template documents, contracts and other purchasing tools;Plan and follow up education and training of their direct reports;Resolve disputes, and counterclaims with and against suppliers;Review, evaluate and approve specifications for obtaining quotes and awarding contracts;Prepare decision documents regarding new agreements for the Director of Operation and the CEO's approval;Represent the company in contract negotiations;Issuing of supplier policies;Support the production team to maintain information system accuracy on Products, Parts, Bill of Materials, and Customer/Supplier records;Contribute to non-core activities when called upon; such as inventory count, BOM adjustments, R&D costing projects, etc.;Strategic sourcing of new supply with new vendors;Create a positive driving force around the issues for which you are responsible, so that they are driven and realized according to agreed time frame;Drive process improvements with set goals for each year;Oversee building maintenance;Reports directly to the Director of Operations;SKILLS & EXPERIENCEDegree in business or supply chain management an asset;Knowledge or experience in Fume-Dust Control / Welding / Metal Forming industries;Experience as a purchasing manager (or similar roll);Ability to always remain professional and courteous with customers, vendors, and colleagues;Fluently Bilingual (written & oral) in English & French;Organizational/prioritization skills to be able to work in a multitasking environment;Ability to work both independently and in a team environment;Proficiency in MS Office tools - Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint;Understanding of purchasing, inventory, and warehouse operational processes;Experience in Microsoft Dynamics or an equivalent ERP an asset.
