We know that the right people in the right positions can do incredible things, and we love making that happen.We are currently looking for a Business Development Purchasing Manager (Batteries) at our Corporate Office in Ajax, ONThis role is critical for achieving raw material supply security for the Canadian office of PowerCo SE (an entity to be later incorporated). Reporting to the Manager, Raw Material Purchasing (Batteries), this position will require expert knowledge of raw materials for high voltage batteries as well as upstream battery production processes. This individual will support in the successful achievement of the vertical integration strategy of PowerCo SE in Canada and the North American Region.**This is a flex hybrid model, requiring 2 days in the Ajax office**Primary Responsibilities:Actively participate in the cooperation and investment qualification and execution process by conducting detailed market scans to identify potential investment or cooperation targets to secure battery raw materials.Develop strategic roadmaps accordingly that will deliver financial, operational and sustainability benefits.Responsible for qualitative and quantitative analysis through data gathering, market analysis, and financial modeling.Prepare presentation materials to summarize recommendations and action plansLiaise with counterparts in other functional areas of the Company to ensure alignment of activities and objectives.What we're asking for:University degree in the field of Business DevelopmentKnowledge of raw materials sector as well as upstream battery production processesExperience in Business Development and/or Strategic ProcurementExperience in managing competitive tenders and successfully negotiating outcomes.A professional approach, collaborative nature, with a strong drive and passion to bring a business on a business transformation journey.Developed influencing skills, business partnering and stakeholder management skills.Demonstrated ability and experience managing commercial relationships with suppliers and driving performance.Proven ability working in a highly process driven & fast turnaround environment.A high level of written and verbal communication and presentation skills.Highly driven self-starter with proficient time management, planning and organization skills.High degree of flexibility, willingness to work across different time zones and conduct business travel to potential suppliersStrong communication and interpersonal skills; German language skills would be an asset but is not requiredFlexibility for local travel and global travel as required (up to 20%)What you'll get in return:A flexible, collaborative, and dynamic work environment with an award-winning employerMany opportunities for personal and professional developmentOpportunities to participate in exciting company events that give back to the communityCompetitive compensation package including employer paid benefits, pension, savings plan matching, and much, much more!**Please note that we appreciate the interest of all candidates, however only those under consideration will be contacted.Additional information: Volkswagen Group Canada is committed to providing accommodations for people with disabilities during all phases of the hiring process including the application process.
