About the role:

As the Billing Manager, you will be a key member of our G&A team, reporting into our parent company Innodata’s SVP Finance. You will own all aspects of our revenue accounting function - including revenue recognition and reporting, invoicing, and the implementation and streamlining of business processes that improve our revenue recognition capabilities.

You will be leading a team of qualified Accounts Receivable specialists and work closely with internal teams such as Legal, Sales, and Customer Success in achieving desired outcomes.

What you’ll be doing:

Lead the review of customer contracts, including identifying and assessing non-standard contractual terms, for proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards
Own the preparation and review of weekly cash forecast reports, monthly account reconciliations and financial reporting - ensuring accurate and timely recording of revenue related transactions and the completeness of financial statements
Maintain oversight on client billing across accounts on a regular basis, including setting up new clients on the invoicing platforms, ensuring they have timely and accurate billing and payment information, maintaining updated records, and assisting on all related client and internal team queries
Work closely with internal teams to solve billing and revenue recognition issues
Perform an ongoing review of existing processes and tools, implementing improvements that help automate & streamline revenue recognition

Monitor and enforce internal controls, assisting on external audits as required
Develop and manage specialists reporting into the position – ensuring they have the tools and support needed to succeed

What we need you to bring:

5 to 7 years’ relevant experience in billing, with 1 to 2 years in a managerial capacity
Proficiency with basic accounting principles, specifically Accounts Receivable and revenue recognition
Working knowledge of Salesforce, invoicing, and tax platforms
Experience working on different currencies, tax, and accounting regulations – esp. US GAAP and SOX compliance

High working proficiency with MS Excel
Experience managing high volume transactions and familiarity with different payment gateways
Experience creating cash flow statements and financial reports especially for Management
Experience implementing new invoicing/ tax systems and driving related data migration projects
