Overview
We are seeking an project Manager to join our Unconventional Resources Engineering and Project Management Department (UREPMD).
UREPMD are responsible for building facilities in different asset areas throughout Saudi Arabia.
They also provide guidance, advice, monitoring, and assistance to the organization with compliance to corporate safety, health and environmental requirements.
Your primary role will be to develop methods for guidance, control and corrective action to ensure a safe operable and economic design within the framework of the project's budget, material
requirements, specifications and schedule.
You should be an expert in one or more disciplines that directly affect project performance, including but not limited to planning and scheduling, project execution, estimation, cost engineering, geomatics, value engineering, and other value improvement practices.
Key Responsibilities
NTERNAL: Regularly within Project Management and Construction and with project proponents to coordinate activities, exchange information, and resolve problems. Occasionally with Operations, Maintenance, Industrial Relations, Contract Services and Community Services Departments to obtain services and coordinate activities.
EXTERNAL: Engineering consultants, contractors, vendors, AOC, U.S. Companies' management, EXCOM, consultants to coordinate project activities.Promotes a learning environment and continuous development to improve M his/her specialty. Acts as a mentor to junior engineers. Conducts seminars, presents case studies, and writes papers for peer-reviewed journals on engineering studies and projects he/she has overseen. Participates in local and international technical societies to serve the company interest.
A. Performs all management functions of the Division level and is delegated the authorities cited in the attached "Table of Delegated Authorities."
B. Develops the Project Proposal and obtains approval.
C. Coordinates cost estimation, the preparation of AFE's and ER's. Assures that estimates have the required accuracy.
D. Coordinates subordinate personnel in controlling the value, cost and time of the project.
E. Coordinates the staffing of the project team which will vary over the time of the project.
F. Negotiates arrangements for design with an Engineering consultant. Establishes Aramco team on site at consultant's offices which may be in the U.K., Europe or the U.S.A. or may be AOC. He remains on site during the design and material procurement phase.
G. Coordinates the preparation of documentation for the bidding of construction. Participates in the selection process and recommends a contractor.
H. Returns to Saudi Arabia and coordinates the construction, startup and commissioning of the facility.
I. Approves contract variations and payments within limits of his authority or endorses and forwards to higher authority.
J. Guides and directs his subordinates in the application of Aramco standards. Assures that variances from standards are minimized.
K. Prepares a monthly report showing the status of design, material procurement, construction, milestones, AFE commitments, payments, charges, variances from standards, waivers and problems.
L. Anticipates and plans for changes in project scope, timing or costs. Prepares documentation and obtains management approval.
M. Presents oral reports at EAC and ExCom meetings.
N. Prepares a post-completion report for management critique.
Minimum Requirements
You must hold a Bachelor degree in Engineering. A higher degree would be preferred.
You should have a minimum of 20 years' experience, including at least 8 years in your main field with an emphasis on initial engineering stages with Project Management Professional certification by AACE, PMI, or a professional engineering board is required.
You must be capable of evaluating and consulting on project problems where precedents are lacking or on problems where a high degree of specialized knowledge is required.
You should be familiar with planning and scheduling methods such as CPM and PERT, company accounting practices, project accountability budgeting and the expenditures and financials portions of the project.
