Responsibilities

As Rig Superintendent you will be respresent the company in all operational matters. Your overall responsibility will include:
The safe and efficient operation within the sphere of authority granted; stimulate, supervise, direct, and evaluate the performance of key operational personnel within the organization; protect the companies best interest at all times.
Usually responsible for an operational administrative function; directing several professional and other groups engaged in interrelated engineering, operational or managerial responsibilities.
Participates in short and long-range planning and take independent decisions for practical and economical problem-solving.
May supervise large groups containing both professional and non-professional staff or may exercise authority over a small group of highly qualified professionals in complex technical applications.
Responsible for technical framework effecting the long-range planning, coordination and making long-lasting management decisions in conjunction with the relevant managers
Operates with broad management authority, without technical guidance and limited only by general objectives and policies of the organisation.
Reviewing and evaluating technical work, selects schedules and coordinates to attain job objectives

Qualifications

Required:

Engineering degree or business degree (with additional technical qualification) or a relevant experience and ability to demonstrate strong technical / commercial aptitude.
5-10 years experience as Rig Superintendent
Excellent proficiency for field calculations, usage of Landmark engineering suite of softwares (Stresscheck, Wellplan etc.).
Excellent computer skills, MS server, sharepoint services, e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet use for preparation of job specific procedures and dealing with amendments to existing procedures.
Valid or able to obtain IADC Certificate is essential.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

Must be able to provide sound and experienced advice in operational matters.
Must be able to contribute in the preparation of schedules and should have strong planning capabilities.
Must possess knowledge of general accepted financial and budgeting practices
Strong technical / operational competencies
A team player who is focused on getting results, with strong analytical skills, ability to interpret and develop statistical reports and calculations.
Good command of the English language and preferably other languages
