About the Role:

Reporting to the Controller, you will be managing the AP function and a small team of direct reports. You provide support to and are a critical part of the Accounting team. This includes ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, including research/resolution of vendor account and invoice issues, maintaining vendor records, and processing payment runs. You maintain an above-average level of accuracy, are organized, possess problem-solving skills, and work well with fellow employees and vendors.

Responsibilities:



  • Perform and manage day-to-day full cycle accounts payable transactions to ensure accurate and timely payment processing


  • Ensure appropriate verifications/approvals for invoices prior to posting


  • Review payable accounts to ensure that information is properly recorded and the records contain appropriate authorization for payment


  • Administer and ensure that entered items have appropriate project codes to facilitate timely payment


  • Manage payment run process. Ensure proper approval of disbursements and facilitate timely payment of vendor invoices


  • Monitor accounts to ensure that payments are up to date


  • Advise department managers regarding any accounts payable questions and vendor issues, as needed


  • Maintain vendor records, including obtaining W-9s, W-8BENs, and W-8BEN-Es from new vendors and update records with tax status and tax ID


  • Prepare Form 1099s


  • Maintain electronic vendors and payable records and filing system


  • As part of the Accounting team, you will help build and update policies, templates, workflows and processes around accounts payable activities




Required Skills/Abilities:



  • 7+ years of accounts payable experience


  • Previous people management experience required


  • Minimum Associate's Degree. Bachelor's Degree in accounting/finance preferred


  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with all levels in the organization


  • Knowledgeable in working with tools including Word, Excel, and accounting systems


  • You are a multi-task master & can handle multiple projects working with a variety of cross-functional partners
