The role

As part of Saab Australia’s Security Operations team, the Governance, Risk & Compliance Officer will take a lead role in connecting security initiatives to compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements, working closely with business, information security, and technology leadership to ensure that Saab’s security program supports business objectives.

Further, the successful candidate will:
  • Liaise with Saab’s business units, projects and key stakeholders to act as an interface between business operations and security program management;
  • Help to facilitate collaborative working, communication and cross-skilling between Security Operations and Quality Assurance teams;
  • Develop and maintain a security risk management program, including the implementation of risk mitigation effort to reduce Saab’s exposure to security risk;
  • Monitor compliance with Saab’s Management System requirements, relevant industry and regulatory standards/frameworks;
  • Advise and/or alert the CISO on security situations of a critical nature that may impact Saab’s business operations;
  • Assist in the establishment, strategic planning, policy, goals and objectives for the implementation of relevant management systems within Saab;
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:
  • Significant experience within a security role, or equivalent;
  • Acknowledged expert in the relevant discipline with recognised broad-based experience
  • Extensive knowledge across a broad spectrum of security risk management and mitigation strategies;
  • Demonstrated ability in developing, implementing, operating and integrating security frameworks, policies and standards into operational context and provide practical advice based on them;
  • Thorough understanding and application of the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM), PSPF, DSPF, ISO 27001 / 31000 standards and other security frameworks and policy documents;
  • Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and management skills;
A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
