The IT Network Engineer is responsible for implementation, maintenance, and ongoing support of the remote offices and drilling rigs regionally for Nabors Industries. The position will require a solid foundation in Cisco route / switch, experience with wireless technologies, and next generation firewalls. Excellent customer service skills and occasional off hours availability will be required as well.


• Exhibits a solid understanding of network route / switch technology and enterprise networking.

• Maintains technology standards in their area(s) of technical expertise and can assist with road maps which specify future state and how to get there to increase capabilities, scalability and performance

• Supports the designs of solutions, consulting to the project team(s), assessing impact and interdependencies and provides the recommendations to effectively manage the impact

• Provides technical guidance, training, direction and reviews the work of colleagues.

• Maintaining technical documentation, drawings and configurations.

• Coordination complex support issues with other teams, peers and stake holders as necessary to resolve technical issues in a timely manner.


• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related fields or 5 years of experience in lieu of a degree.

• Solid Cisco route / switch expertise

• Familiarity with at least one of the following next gen firewalls, Fortinet, Cisco FirePower, Palo Alto.

• Experience working with wireless technologies and wireless lan controllers.

• Cisco CCNA or equivalent experience


• 10 or more years of relevant functional experience in a network engineering role.

• Networking and associated protocols including TCP/UDP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, DNS, SNMP and other internet associated protocols

• IP addressing to include subnetting, route aggregation, and BGP route maps

• Understanding of Satellite networks and cellular networks.

• Fault tolerant network systems design experience

• Experience with Cisco ISE, FTD / FMC and Fortinet next-gen firewalls.

• Experience with Cisco Viptela SD WAN, or other SD WAN platforms.
