As a Cold Chain Logistics Product manager for Maersk in United Arab Emirates Area you are responsibe to drive CCL growth and profitability in the Area by translating global strategy and initiatives into Area Product, Carrier and Performance plans and ensure execution while providing support and guidance with expertise. With direct responsibility to grow and develop our Cold Chain solutions across United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar, you will be required to develop the capability of cold chain solution sales and set strategies to help achieve our Area targets. You will be required to manage the sales pipeline for Cold chain and build new business relationships, prepare and execute plans to ensure we achieve the best results for both our business and our customers.

This role reports directly into Area Product Director.

Key responsibilities
Product Strategy
  • Develop and execute the United Arab Emirates Area cold chain strategy, leading an exponential growth path including building the needed products and infrastructure to succeed.
  • Provide input to cold store target footprint and identify opportunities
  • Identify product priorities for integrated Cold Chain solutions and requirements, partner with global team to develop suitable product offerings
Business Development
  • Act as a key partner to the sales organisation defining the Area value proposition for our cold chain ambitions and support the team in winning cold chain business.
  • Drive product development projects locally
  • Engage in joint sales calls with the sales people in the area to develop their understanding of Cold Chain and help deliver end to end solutions to our customers
  • Develop local, customised adaptations to the Global Cold Chain Solutions to meet local Customer/Market needs
  • Identify potential Logistics partners/Vendors specific to Cold Chain. Develop specifications for these and work with procurement to conclude contracts

- Product profitability - Focus on maximizing revenue, GP and EBIT through upselling and cost management

  • Prepare Business cases for potential investment in the Area
  • Responsible for the P&L of the product
Operational excellence
  • Implementation of global best practice and operating guidelines, drive continuous improvement
  • Drive HSSE adherence, compliance & regulatory adherence in CCL sites
  • Ensure sites are operating basis security / IT standards
  • Support Implementation of solutions in the area.
People Management
  • Coach, motivate and build a high performing team. Lead by example, inspire and energize respective team
We are looking for
  • 5-7 years' experience within the logistics sector, preferably for temperature controlled cargo in UAE or GCC.
  • Cold chain and/or SCM experience
  • Proven track record in assessing market needs and building solutions for customers.
  • Experience in exploring and establishing new or joint venture partnerships to service customer needs across cold warehousing and distribution.
  • Experience in international supply chain, understanding how supply chain solutions may be leveraged to deliver strategic intent across all functions of a client’s business.
  • Track record of identifying, pursuing and winning new business.
  • Own Strong UAE market and customer experience

  • Proximity to technology aspect and cold chain market assets.
  • Communication, collaboration and problem solving skills.
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Strong analytical skills.
