Job Description For our client, a major maintenance Company, we are looking for Welding Supervisors to work in a nuclear power plant in UAE. Requirements:3 years' experience as a production welder1 year experience as charge-hand6 months experience in operating welding stores3 years nuclear site experienceExperience of supervising in a nuclear environmentBasic estimation and ordering of welding consumables via materials controlOrdering and deploying welding power sources and ancillary equipmentMentoring and coaching of traineesAdministration of welding control systemKnowledge of the welding, fabrication standards, and acceptance criteriaKnowledge of welding procedures, welder qualification standards, and companywelding quality systemsAbility to execute work in the relevant section to the level of productivity requiredunder the contract.Knowledge & understanding of the legal, practical and company safetyrequirements.Knowledge and effective application of company and client quality procedures.Ability to effectively manage and resolve first line industrial and employee relationissues. Basic understanding of company administration procedures e.g. timesheets andreports etc.An awareness of related contract issues such as:• Commercial/Financial status• IT• Planning function and programming Awareness of Outage and Maintenance Process. Behaviors to engender trust and discipline of workforce in alignment and achievement of project objectives.RequirementsAllocate and monitor welding related tasks to those under his control to achieve therequired levels of performance and productivity.Completion of site welding quality records and traceability for consumables, materials,consumables and plant items. Estimating, ordering and deployment of welding related consumables and equipment. Liaison with sub-contracts/commercial function to define and manage NDT, HeatTreatment & Gas supply contractors. Implement safety procedures e.g. risk assessments, method statements, permit towork, Improvement Observation process etc Oversee welding consumable control and welding stores. Complete pre and post weld inspections of weld and equipment set-ups to ensurecompliance with specified standards, procedures and Work Instructions. Monitor Hazard awareness, including continuously reinforce Focus2Zero message forall site activities including error traps and Focus2Zero Error Prevention Tools. Delivery of toolbox talks. Coach and mentor members of the team. Ensure that post job assessments are carried out for all personnel in line with eventcompletion dates and timely completion and submission of End of Outage Welding Supervisor Report to both Regional Office and Welding Services Sharing of lessons learned and best practices Assist as necessary in weld repair investigations.
