Job Summary for Program Manager: The Program Manager will wear multiple hats in this role. The Program Manager will work across the enterprise along with the Director and PMO to ensure project prioritization, identification of dependencies for resources and projects, and communication of status of company projects to company leadership to achieve alignment and achievement of the Board of Directors priorities. The Program Manager will also work within the PMO to develop efficiencies in the initiation, planning, execution and closing of projects with a goal of delivering excellence in projects to the sponsors. The Program Manager will also be the point person for developing additions to the Project Management Playbook, PMO and company-wide training initiatives, and new roles and responsibilities for the PMO across the enterprise. This role will also be the bench for the Director in the absence of the Director. Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Program Manager:
  • Collaborate with the project sponsor and stakeholders to identify the project scope, objective, deliverables, and milestones at the beginning of every project
  • Manage, coach, develop and mentor any direct reports
  • Prepare accurate status reports for project meetings that will assist the project sponsors with strategic decision making
  • Determine, based on scope, objectives, cost, and timeline, the best project approach to use and the right people to involve
  • Create, direct and monitor project assignments; escalate to the project sponsor appropriately
  • Understand how and when to use various project management processes (scope management, cost management, quality management, etc.) to accomplish project objectives
  • Continually keep the project sponsor, stakeholders and team abreast on the status of project work through clear, accurate and concise status updates and meetings
  • Continually monitor and manage changes to the scope, cost and schedule of the project
  • Lead the improvement of project management methodologies and implement best practices within the Project Management Team
  • Champion project management methodology & best practice across the organization through building awareness and educating
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • The ability to work concurrently on multiple projects with varying priorities; works well under pressure and within deadlines and gives great attention to detail
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, the board of directors, and staff
  • Excellent judgement and creative problem-solving skills. Self-reliant and results- oriented
  • Strong mentoring, coaching experience to project teams and teammates with diverse levels of expertise
  • Management skills; ability to influence, motivate and engage project team members
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive
  • Self-motivated, hard-working and goal-driven

  • A willingness to grow within the role to achieve industry certifications, greater project management responsibility and leadership opportunities
  • Experience with analytics, modeling and building organizations a plus
  • Experience with multiple project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) a plus
  • Experience with Change Management a plus
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma a plus
  • Experience in the integration of mergers and acquisitions a plus
  • Previous team leadership experience especially within project management is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7+ years of Project Management experience
  • 3+ years of enterprise Program Management experience
  • Must have and maintain in good standing professional license, certificate, or registration, as applicable
  • PMP certification highly preferred or must obtain PMP certification within first year of hire date
