Reference 2018-8913 Position descriptionJob titleTechnical Writer M/FContractTemporary work contractContractual hoursFull timeContract duration1 year Employee StatusEmployeeJob descriptionWe currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Qatar for a: Technical WriterJob Purpose:This is an opportunity for you to be responsible and to provide your experience in onshore and offshore projects especially LNG Plant, Gas Treatment Plant, Ship Loading applications and Port activities. Competent to research, plan, prepare, and produce, comprehensive Operations related written documents and to train concerned Employees. These documents will include:- Plant Operating Manuals and Procedures.- Start up, Shutdown and Operating Procedures and Standing Instructions.- New Projects procedures, including Tie-in and Commissioning.- General Operations and Equipment topics.- Operations documentation related drawings, forms and checklists to complement all documents.Your main duties will be to:-- Develop all Operations' Plants required documentation in accordance with established company Policies & Procedures, Gas/oil industry and International standards and to meet ISO 9000 & 14000 requirements. - Produce concise and accurate technical and safety related documents. . - Review and revise the existing Operations' Plants documentation including Risk Assessment of Operation Documents and propose Criticality Level for the Operation procedures in coordination with Operations Section Heads/Superintendents, and when applicable with other departments Line Management/Supervision. - Prepare associated Start Up, Shutdown, Operating procedures and training programs for implementation, and then train the Plant Operations Shift personnel. - Ensure that all Plant Operations Staff are briefed on all related operations procedures (newly issued and revised), including Safety, Engineering and Maintenance related job procedures and Standing Instructions in coordination with Training & Competency Lead. Same approach applies to Projects documentation including the changes on existing facilities. - Participate in the identification of operating areas requiring change or alteration of a technical nature to meet varying operating conditions to determine impact on Plant documentation and develop solutions, and required training of concerned personnel. - Act as the Documentation and Computer Focal Point for the Sections within the Department to ensure all Data Files are backed-up regularly in the Master Procedure Database by Document Controller. - Conduct Monthly/ Weekly Review Meetings with Assets /Customers to review performance and action items. Prepare Monthly Report and Action Plans. - Work closely with the Engineering Group- Documents and Standards Section in the preparation and maintenance of Standardized Documentation layout and display in the Intranet Portals. - Develop policies, procedures for application to all Operations activities, from onshore and offshore production to customer interface. Present draft documentation for management approval, leading up to Material printing and distribution. ProfileIdeally you will have an HND or relevant Trade Qualifications relating to Petrochemical Operations or equivalent from a recognized institution or approved program. Minimum 12 years' relevant process operation supervision experience in LNG / Gas Plant production. At least 3 years' experience in Technical Authoring in the Hydrocarbon / Petrochemical industry. You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.You will need excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal English.
