Production Planning Engineer II

The successful candidate will take ownership for check package estimation, post check analysis, end of check meetings, and in the dock for day to day delivery of the production plan in conjunction with the production team, constantly updating the plan based on actual progress and new findings as the check progresses. Acting as liaison between the production team and the rest of the engineering organisation for any queries or requests. Ensuring the progressive closure of the workpack and giving planning clearance for CRS signature.
Supervise and provide training and developmental opportunities to Planning team members to facilitate knowledge dissemination, skill & process improvements, procedural awareness, ensuring elimination of inefficient methods, enhanced productivity, and implementation of departmental improvements /system changes. Administer updates for KPI / Error measurement processes & continual improvement initiatives. Provide supervision and guidance on a daily basis for all direct reports and team members.
Ensure team members adhere to the Time and Attendance policy, challenge underperformance and that every team member has a fully developed PM's, receives at least 2 interim reviews within a defined PM window & is provided with continual objective feedback to ensure developmental improvements in line with Operational business needs & career enhancement opportunities.
Identify and lead projects to continuously improve the Production Planning Department and improve the service provided to Operations
Manage the daily allocation of work to Production in conjunction with the Shift Manager and Resource planning team. Ensuring all tools, materials and resources are available to deliver the planned work.
Maintain the Check workflow plan to ensure it reflects the current check progress and planned finish date, and also reflects check findings and their impact on the critical path.
Review all Non-Routine Findings for material, tooling and resource requirements before planning into the workflow plan.
Oversee the audit of completed check workpacks/cards and ensure the CRS is only released to production on confirmation all cards have been completed or deferred in accordance with the EPM.
Oversee the workpack closure process in UM and workpack dispatch to Technical Records.
Provide all post check reports as required to ensure an efficient and effective feedback process exists to all concerned stakeholders.
Act as key focal for all planning issues between operations and all other stakeholders during check execution including: Engineering Technical Services, Component Repair, A/C Scheduling, Logistics, Facilities, Workshop Parties, Workshops and Planning.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors in Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical, Electronic or Avionics) or licensed on an EK fleet type.
9 years' experience within Aircraft Maintenance or Production Planning at an airline or 3rd party Maintenance facility.
Knowledge of aircraft systems, power plant and components.
Thorough understanding of Aircraft Regulatory requirements and Aircraft Maintenance documents.
Knowledge of MS Office applications i.e. Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of ULTRAMAIN is an advantage.
Excellent people management skills.
