CLOUD ENGINEERrole at Qatar Energy Primary Purpose of the Job The purpose of the senior cloud engineer role is to design and deploy robust and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions using platforms like Azure and Google Cloud, ensuring deployment best practices are followed and maintained. The senior cloud engineer will be part of the Cloud Center of Excellence (CCo E) team and will work closely with cloud architects and stakeholders within the ICT department to provide guidance on cloud deployment designs and engineering. This role is hands-on, leading technical cloud discussions, creating configuration changes, and improving the technical and professional standards of Qatar Energy’s cloud environment. Required Experience and Skills 10+ years of hands-on experience working on cloud platforms like Azure and GCP as a cloud administrator. 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure troubleshooting, operation management, and resource optimization. Strong experience in implementing cloud infrastructure and application solutions focusing on CI/CD and automation. Ability to provide technical leadership through code reviews and guidance on engineering best practices. 5+ years of experience with containerization platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Red Hat Open Shift. Experience with designing and managing Dev Ops/CICD/SDLC tools including Azure Dev Ops, Bit Bucket, Jenkins, Nexus, etc. 5+ years of experience migrating legacy workloads from on-premises to cloud-native technologies in regulated environments. Cloud solutions design and architecture experience is highly desirable. Collaborate with Qatar Energy cloud architecture team on design, implementation, and secure operation of cloud solutions. Strong communication skills to convey ideas and instructions clearly. Promote a culture of shared knowledge within the CCo E team and ICT community. Educational Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science from a reputable institution. Certifications from leading cloud providers such as Microsoft and Google.
