About the Role The Buyer for department stores is responsible for the Kidswear category across our multi-luxury brands in the region. This role involves developing buy strategies, planning, projecting, and identifying product requirements, purchasing quantities that meet customer needs, maximizing profits, and offering a commercially viable product range. The role requires enthusiasm, energy, and a commitment to creating an exceptional shopping experience. What You'll Be Doing Strategic Roles and Responsibilities: Analyze market trends, consumer preferences, sell-through rates, seasonal demands, etc., to formulate buying strategies aligned with consumer and store demands. Functional Roles and Responsibilities: Plan and select merchandise range, type, quality, and quantity based on customer demand, trends, store policies, and set prices, aiming to meet sales targets in collaboration with the Division Merchandise Manager/GMM. Conduct purchasing activities according to brand purchase plans. Stay updated on market trends and competitor activities. Maintain profitable relationships with suppliers and monitor contract adherence. Monitor stock levels, coordinate with planning teams to ensure optimal inventory based on demand. Support promotional activities, ensuring merchandise availability in the right quantities and timing. Assist PR and Marketing teams in product selection for campaigns. Negotiate with suppliers for staff training on products, and manage brand training to keep staff updated on new products and trends. Review sales and buying feedback reports weekly, providing strategic recommendations. Prepare reports analyzing sales, consumer trends, and stock management to guide buying decisions. Conduct store visits to review brand performance and monitor competitor activities. People Management Roles and Responsibilities: Provide leadership and guidance to subordinates to achieve goals and objectives. Motivate and develop staff for higher roles, ensuring performance excellence.
