Development Geology Advisor WRS are currently looking to identify a well experienced Development Geologist to work for an oil company, based in Bahrain. This company is looking to expand a well-established team, ideally with a candidate who can add true expertise across the development of carbonate fields. Job Summary The successful candidate will:  o Utilize sound geological principals to collaborate within a multi-functional team to develop integrated geological interpretations for evaluating, optimizing and recommending reservoir development plans, including primary and EOR/IOR projects. o Conduct detailed structural and stratigraphic interpretations and reservoir characterization studies as support for individual/group well recommendations. o Develop geological input for well proposals, data acquisition, and analytical studies. o Monitors wellsite drilling, coring, sample logging, and wireline operations. o Provide technical support to the team by staying current with regard to new technologies, new interpretation methodologies, and other developments within the geosciences, and act as a technical resource to less experienced team members. o Provide advanced technical expertise and leadership to the Reservoir Management Team. Key Job Responsibilities Reservoir Characterization:  o Creates integrated geological interpretations utilizing appropriate types of geophysical, geological, and petrophysical data as well as data from other disciplines to enhance understanding of development projects o Constructs geological models utilizing available workstation and PC-based software, including Schlumberger Petrel and IP software and LGC Suite (SeisWorks, StratWorks, ZMAP) and GeoGraphix o Works effectively with subsurface team members to develop robust and consistent geological interpretations for development plans, individual well recommendations, and reserves forecasting Reserves Development:  o Plans, designs, and implements development drilling, workover, pilots, and well conversion projects o Participates in Post-Assessment of development projects o Well Planning o Completes detailed logging plans for development wells and redrills o Works with Drilling Department in planning and execution of drill wells o Supervises wellsite operations, including QC/QA of wireline and MWD logging o Completes onsite GeoSteering of wells to insure proper placement of drilled wells Technical Studies:  o Participates in business unit and corporate knowledge sharing tools o Acts as a technical expert and mentor for less experienced Reservoir Management team members. Provides mentoring, training, and support as needed to enhance current knowledge of Reservoir Management team staff. o Lead project teams as assigned by supervisor o Proactively identify issues and constructively work to resolve Candidate Requirements The successful candidate will have:  o BSc Degree (or ideally higher) in Geology o Minimum of 15 years experience in the upstream oil and gas industry o Advanced knowledge of discipline technical theory and mastery of software systems in the upstream oil and gas industry including significant and relevant experience in geological interpretation using current workstation and/or PC-based software (SeisWorks, Petrel, GeoGraphix, or others) o Experience with integration of geophysical, geological, and petrophysical data into geocellular reservoir models, rock and reservoir property data analysis and distribution using appropriate geostatistical methods o Wellsite operations experience including supervision of logging and coring., geosteering, formation tes
