Job Description - Director of Engineering - Waldorf Astoria Doha Lusail (HOT0BNJ1) Job Description Director of Engineering - Waldorf Astoria Doha Lusail ( Job Number: HOT0BNJ1 Work Locations Waldorf Astoria Doha Lusail Qatar Entertainment City Doha Plot No. LED-ENT/01 A Director of Engineering will manage the Engineering Team to efficiently maintain all hotel operations, ensuring safety, security, conservation, and compliance at the highest levels. What will I be doing? As Director of Engineering, you are responsible for managing all engineering and maintenance operations within the hotel, including energy conservation. You will also develop the Engineering Team and stay updated on compliance regulations and procedures relevant to hotel standards. Specifically, your responsibilities will include: Leading the Engineering Team in daily engineering and maintenance operations, including service standards, equipment schedules, and work schedules. Coordinating with Housekeeping to prioritize maintenance activities for guest rooms and public areas. Developing systems and procedures to ensure the health and safety of guests and staff, and proper conditions for machinery and property. Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations through communication with government agencies. Preparing budgets for Capital Expenditures and Repairs & Maintenance for Engineering. Performing daily hotel inspections and checks. Conducting lift emergency release procedures as needed. Diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment. Building good relationships with internal and external customers. Maintaining hotel fixtures and fittings in safe condition and addressing unsafe situations promptly. Developing and implementing emergency response programs. Managing energy conservation initiatives to reduce expenses. Overseeing renovation projects, including bidding, scope definition, and supervising contractors. Handling special projects and other assigned responsibilities. Introducing environmentally friendly systems and equipment. Monitoring Key Performance Indicators and taking corrective actions to improve department performance. Managing all team member activities, including recruitment, performance management, training, and motivation. What are we looking for? The ability to work under pressure and independently. Previous experience in facilities management. Proficiency in relevant computer applications at an advanced level.
