Responsibilities

  • The QA Manager will be charged with the responsibility of overseeing Quality Assurance for one of the titles produced by gumi Asia
  • Consolidate the current embedded and remote QA testers into a strong cohesive QA team that adopts best practices and industry-standard common testing methodology and processes
  • Help spearhead any future adoption of Automated Testing for mobile titles
  • Identify testing gaps, anticipate issues and provide solutions, expert advice and risk mitigation to management and producers for their titles
  • Work with other team managers and stakeholders including production and engineering to create tools and processes for QA testing
  • Provide expert knowledge around testing related domains through knowledge sharing
  • Formulate and standardised QA testing strategies for development and operations using internal test teams and external vendors while remaining flexible to individual team needs
  • Provide leadership, develop and train a pipeline of high quality testers of various seniorities to support gumi's titles
  • Provide ongoing assessment of resource needs to deliver within schedule and resource constraints

Requirements

  • Acute risk analyst who can provide expert advice, pre-empt and mitigate issues on the quality of the product while not losing focus on the overall game plan
  • Experienced manual tester who is able to create, review and vet relevant test cases for our mobile games
  • Team player who can build strong relationships with internal and external teams to deliver the needs of the titles as well as the requirements of QA needs and tools
  • Strong understanding and comprehensive experience in game quality assurance
  • Experience in remote team management, and hybrid functional team management
  • Manager with at least 3 years of team management experience who can mentor, motivate and develop team members of various levels
  • Strong multi-tasker capable of leading testing, managing internal team, vendors and product teams to contribute to the overall goals of the company
  • Experience in Agile methodology, JIRA and other project management and bug tracking tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical
  • Game industry experience especially for mobile games with ongoing live operation will be highly advantageous
