The position, Health and Safety Team Leader, involves providing technical and leadership role to OPQL in implementing and managing health, safety and lifting programs. The responsibility will include, but not be limited to, supporting the OPQL's Health and Safety Department goals, working closely with OPQL's HES Manager and HES group to assure that environmental and SR policies, standards, programs, and issues are properly addressed. Specifically, the position involves:

Development and implementation of an OSHA based OPQL Health and Safety Program. Technical expertise in OSHA Health (industrial hygiene focused) and Safety Program. Coordinating with OOG HES&S on implementation of OPQL H&S programs. Participating on OOG HES&S Assessments and Self Assessments as required. Leading Accident Investigations utilizing TapRoot process. Emergency Response Coordination. Leading activities required to meet the Company's Health, Safety and Lifting Policy, Procedures, and Standards Supervising and mentoring 5 senior Health and Safety professionals and one Qatari experienced safety professional. Developing and implementing safety training programs, working with the OPQL training coordinator. Chairman of the OPQL Onshore SEHRE Team.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops and implements an OSHA based OPQL Health and Safety Program. Provides Technical expertise in OSHA Health (industrial hygiene focused) and Safety Programs. Coordinates with OOG HES&S on implementation of OPQL H&S programs. Participates on OOG HES&S Assessments and Self Assessments as required. Leads accident investigations utilizing TapRoot process. Coordinates OPQL Emergency Response activities. Leads activities required to meet the Company's Health, Safety and Lifting Policy, Procedures, and Standards Supervises and mentors five senior Health and Safety professionals and one Qatari experienced safety professional. Develops and implements safety training programs, working with the OPQL training coordinator. Chairs the OPQL Onshore SEHRE Possesses excellent skills for dealing effectively with other team members, company operations personnel, regulatory personnel and the public. Conducts all work activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner at all times by not taking on any tasks(s) that are perceived to be unsafe. Complies with the OOG HES Management System. Recommends, coordinates and conducts H&S audits and inspections. Supports the OPQL Risk Management Program.

Qualifications:
Education:
BS degree in engineering, safety, industrial hygiene or related science degree. Professional/Technical Knowledge:
Working knowledge of oil and gas offshore operations. Excellent knowledge of industrial hygiene issues including: NORM, asbestos, benzene, H2S, PCB, respiratory protection and noise. Working knowledge of US OSHA regulatory requirements as concerns oil and gas production operations. Professional/Technical Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications:
CIH and CSP certification is desired Experience:
5 years safety and/or industrial hygiene / occupational health experience. 10-15 years oilfield experience with a pro-active attitude for personal safety and the safety of co-workers, contractors and the public. Skills & Competencies:
