Senior Manager – ESG - Dubai Holding Land Estates

Dubai Holding Land Estates oversees a diverse land portfolio strategically located across Dubai’s most sought-after areas. With convenient access to major highways, nearby amenities, and flexible land use options, investors are presented with unique opportunities for development and growth.Through the centralization of Dubai Holding’s land bank, Dubai Holding Land Estates focuses on large-scale master plans, ensuring alignment with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, whilst also supporting the business’s commitment to sustainable urban development and strategic land portfolio management.Job Purpose: The Senior Manager ESG will support the Director of ESG in managing and implementing environmental planning and sustainability strategies for major Dubai Holding master plan developments. A key focus will be on large-scale waterfront projects, including Palm Jebel Ali and Dubai Islands.This role involves integrating sustainable master planning, urban design, biodiversity conservation, and environmental permitting processes, ensuring alignment with Dubai Holding Real Estate’s sustainability commitments and regulatory requirements.Key Accountabilities: Lead environmental planning efforts for island development projects, ensuring compliance with Dubai's environmental regulations, sustainability frameworks, and best practices.Develop and implement sustainability strategies for master planning, urban design, and public realm design, incorporating circular economy principles, nature-based solutions, and carbon reduction strategies.Support the environmental permitting process by coordinating Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA),strategic environmental assessments, and sustainability appraisals in compliance with UAE regulatory requirements.Provide technical guidance on integrating sustainability into master planning, urban planning, and urban design processes to align with international best practices and local regulations.Develop and oversee sustainability implementation plans for island projects, focusing on resource efficiency, low-carbon construction, and environmental resilience.Identify and assess sustainability risks and opportunities in the design and construction phases of island developments, ensuring alignment with DHRE's decarbonization and ESG targets.Work closely with urban planners, architects, and engineering teams to embed sustainability principles into design and development decisions.Support biodiversity conservation and planning around environmentally sensitive and protected areas such as RAMSAR sites, marine reserves, and other ecologically significant habitats, ensuring the protection of endangered species and marine ecosystems.Ensure proper integration of ecological buffers, green corridors, and wildlife movement strategies within island developments to minimize environmental impact.Conduct site assessments and oversee construction supervision aspects to ensure compliance with sustainability and environmental mitigation measures during project execution.Collaborate with contractors and project teams to monitor environmental performance, enforce mitigation plans, and ensure adherence to environmental best practices on-site.Conduct research and analysis on sustainability innovations, emerging technologies, and policy trends related to environmental planning and urban-scale sustainability.Engage with relevant stakeholders, including government entities, regulatory bodies, consultants, and suppliers, to advance DHLE and DHRE’s sustainability agenda.Lead sustainability reporting efforts related to island development projects, ensuring alignment with corporate ESG reporting frameworks and environmental compliance obligations.Qualifications, Experiences, Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Urban Planning, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.Strong understanding of environmental planning, urban sustainability strategies, biodiversity conservation, and regulatory frameworks in Dubai and the UAE.Knowledge of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) processes, permitting requirements, and sustainability integration in master planning.Familiarity with sustainable urban design, public realm development, and nature-based solutions.Experience in planning and designing around environmentally sensitive and protected areas such as RAMSAR sites, marine habitats, and coastal ecosystems.Expertise in construction supervision and environmental compliance monitoring to ensure sustainability measures are properly implemented during execution.Experience in climate adaptation, carbon footprint reduction, and circular economy applications in real estate and infrastructure projects.Minimum 6-8 years of experience in environmental planning, sustainability strategy, or urban planning within real estate development, consulting, or government sectors.Hands-on experience with environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and sustainability assessments in Dubai.Strong track record in integrating sustainability strategies into large-scale master planning and urban development projects.Experience engaging with government entities and regulatory authorities for environmental approvals and compliance.Experience in supervising construction activities to ensure environmental and sustainability standards are upheld on-site.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.Proficiency in sustainability reporting, environmental assessment tools, and project management.Ability to work cross-functionally within multidisciplinary teams About the Benefits: At Dubai Holding, we're committed to nurturing the success and well-being of our colleagues.
