Primarily this position is QP's only assurance that Construction and replacement work at offshore locations that are carried out by the Marine Vessel contractor, to which the inspector is deployed, are completed to the standard of quality, codes and applicable standards. Therefore by implementation of varying testing & inspections to these requirements, final completed components/fabrications can be installed in to service without the risk of catastrophic failure consequences. Quality control functions on all aspects of mechanical, welding work during major repair or replacement of static equipment, structure and pipe work. Initiates initial replacement work scope through inspections prior to start of work. Reviews contract scope of work. Reviews welding specification, welding procedures, reports & NDT documentation. Review and evaluates contractors quality systems, ensuring all requirements have been fully implemented. Initiates and completes full inspections of WHJ's structure, pipe work and equipment, subsequently recommends remedial work requirements. Extensive experience in Construction, Welding, Inspection, NDT, Quality Control & quality Assurance. In conjunction to this experience, International Personnel Certification approvals are required, covering all fields of Inspection and NDT. Responsible for final documentation on acceptance on site and that all testing is complete. Education:
H.N.D or BSc in Mechanical Engineering. Possession of current International approved certification e.g. CSWIP/PCN/API achieved through approved formal training is a mandatory requirement. C.S.W.I.P 3.2 Senior Welding Inspector C.S.W.I.P /PCN Ultrasonic Testing Level-II C.S.W.I.P /PCN Magnetic Particle Inspection C.S.W.I.P /PCN Dye Penetrant Inspection API 570 Piping Inspector API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector Possession of Coating Inspection Qualification Experience & Skills:
Minimum of 8 Years experience in the Inspection of Static Plant, Structures Pipe work and Pipelines during construction and installation, Pressure retaining Equipment inspections both on stream and during shutdowns, including inspection and testing of safety relief systems. Minimum of 5 Years shall have been spent at offshore locations. Must have thorough knowledge of international codes & standards relating to fabrication & on stream inspection of static equipment.
