We are looking to hire a Sourcing Director for our client manufacture welded steel structures.
Supervise and manage day-to-day sourcing operations to support business requirement and help achieve business targets.
Lead, manage, control and assist in the development, recommendation and implementation of supply chain related cost saving initiatives. Work as the change driver for Supply Chain target.
Understand our suppliers' capabilities and manage our product categories to consolidate purchase volumes, improve product quality, provide more efficient service and reduce costs to achieve company objectives
Oversee company's Supply Base and lead the team that manages the quoting process. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers while seeking new sourcing opportunities to ensure we are receiving competitive quotes in support of Steel & Fluid vision for growth. Participate in our initiative to expand the supply base within the European market
Responsibilities
Maintain a-best-in-class supply base through strong supplier relationships in all aspects of our business. This includes strong understanding of their culture, business, formal and informal leaders, and overall needs. This should be accomplished through frequent contact - on-site visits, as well as on-going dialogue.
Continually improve/ develop supplier data base to ensure better margin
Negotiate with suppliers to obtain quotations, prices and delivery times
Evaluate supplier quotes and services to determine if they are compatible with company objectives and meet customer specifications
Train the team on proper purchasing skills and procedures
Manage the company's supply portfolio ensuring transparency of spending
Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies
Analyze and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditure
Create negotiation strategies and secure profitable deals
Optimize sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency
Perform cost and scenario analysis
Estimate risks and apply risk minimizing techniques
Discover and partner with trustworthy vendors and suppliers
Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
A successful, multi-year track record in a manufacturing organization with 5+ years of experience as Sourcing Director, with exposure to European manufacturing market
A good understanding of the Romanian market: local/ regional needs on sustainability and high performance
Develop good regional market insights and filter global/ European solutions for local benefits
Prepare and support the transformation of our business without supply chain issues
Track and implement an improvement program on security of supply and supplier compliance
Built a strong supplier network and select carefully a few 'Partners' for our future
Strong project management and leadership skills
Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships
Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data
Solid judgment with ability to make good decisions
Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management as well as relevant software
BSc degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration
Good command of both English
