Job details
Experience level: 5 to 7 years
Diploma: minimum BSC in Civil Engineering specialized in Geotechnics - from a recognized university
Knowledge:
• Strong knowledge and experience in geotechnical engineering
• Strong experience in designing retaining walls
• Strong knowledge of the codes especially AASHTO
• Strong Knowledge of FEM analysis and necessary softwares - especially Plaxis
• Knowledge of the MSE Walls design is a big advantage
• Knowledge of the Middle East Construction market is an advantage
Skills:
• Professional English
• Very good organization skills
• Hard worker
• Good manager of a design team
• Good team spirit
• Able to work under pressure
• Able to actively participate to meeting with contractors, clients, and consultant
• Comfortable to lead technical discussions
Working hours:
• 5 days a week / can be 6 days a week if required by the work load.
Scope of work: MSE Walls Designer:
• Carry out the MSE Walls design according to the codes and to the specific projects and clients specifications
• Prepare the design reports and shop drawings and submit them to the client
• Manage the design team carrying out the said design
• Follow up the approvals and respond to the consultants/clients comments
• Participate to meetings and defend the company interests in front of the clients
• Lead the research and development of the MSE walls system to improve it and make it more efficient
• Report to Division Manager
• Follow the company procedures
